almcmannis: These swim shorts are great. They are a good length- hitting 4 or 5 in above my knees. The fabric has a nice feel and is stretchy. I love love love them. Never going back to traditional bathing suit. Pop on a bikini top or tankini top & you’re good to go. Super comfy too

Madeline Schumacher: The shorts are a comfortable material and I like that they cover to a few inches above the knee. I was needing longer bike swim shorts to wear under shorter wading shorts for extra coverage.
I can't say these are especially high waisted though. Maybe it's because of the way I'm built (less junk in the front and more junk in the trunk) but the waistband came up to my belly button in the front but was low-rise in the back, which was disappointing. There was a lot of loose unflattering material at the front, but sizing down wouldn't have helped because the hips were snug and so are the thighs. Again, this works for my purposes as a layering suit, but I would've been disappointed if I wanted to wear them as a swim separate.
Also, I HIGHLY recommend washing these before wearing. Mine had a strange smell, so I handwashed them in the sink in cold water with a bit of detergent and the water turned purple with all the extra dye. Haven't noticed any staining since then.
