Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker with Adjustable Brew Strength for Tea Cafe-Style Drinks

Terry J. Keaton: Went through several pitchers to find a happy result. Four family size tea bags, 1 to 1 1/2 cups of sugar in the pitcher. Four cups of water, run the cycle. Stir sugar in, add a big squirt of lemon juice. Leave tea bags in, add another four cups of water and run cycle. Then add final three cups of water and run cycle. After last cycle, press on bags with spoon to get last bits of tea. Turns out a good enough cup when added to a cup of ice. Brewer works really good.

foxyj: I have had many iced tea makers and this is, without a doubt, the very best iced tea maker on the market! I don’t use ice either. I simply fill the water to the line and pour into machine. I thin add a pinch of baking soda and 3/4 cup of sugar and turn on! This melts the sugar, I stir and then feel to top line with cold water from my refrig! Excellent taste, pitcher and machine.
My only recommendation would be to purchase another pitcher!

CA ChickadeeCA Chickadee: I previously reviewed this tea maker (five stars) and after nearly a year of heavy use, the glass pitcher finally broke. I was always a little worried about the fragility of the glass, and one day when filling the pitcher with ice cubes, it cracked and a large hole broke on the bottom. There was no saving it. HOWEVER, I found the perfect acrylic pitcher and now am wondering why Mr. Coffee doesn't offer an acrylic pitcher as an option. The fit of this particular pitcher is perfect. The shape and design fits exactly underneath the drip spout. And now, I don't have to ever worry about the glass pitcher breaking again. I am extremely happy with my solution. Bought this on Amazon:

T. Bradley: We have used many Mr Coffee brands of icead tea makers over the years and seen the designs change. The one with the red top was a struggle. Leaked out by missing the pot often! We finally gave up and got this one.

This unit is an easier design and the chance of missing the glass carafe are almost zero. The tea strength setting stays put and doesn't have to be checked with every pot. Quite pleased overall! Only downsides are that the plastic lid for the carafe doesn't stay firmly in place when pouring. You need to hold it or it will pop out and make a mess. The glass on the carafe is paper thin as well. Hope it lasts. Maybe there are other alternatives out there.

Micheal R. Lee: Bought it for my wife. She used it less than 10 times before total failure. Contacted Mr. Coffee through the "contact us" form. After a very slow response, I got an email saying to call a phone number. The phone number gave me a recording saying to use the "contact us" page. I'd like to say more about the experience but I don't know what I'm allowed to say on an Amazon review any more.

I do not recommend this product or this company.

UPDATE 7.11.20
After I gave up on ever hearing from Mr. Coffee again and filed a BBB complaint they FINALLY got back to me (don't know if BBB contacted them or not). They made me jump through a number of hoops, including sending pictures of the unit. I then waited ANOTHER 10 days or so before receiving a request for a picture of the unit with the cord cut several days ago. This morning I received an email that they are sending me a new unit. I'll mark my calendar for 6 months or so and maybe bump my rating if the new unit holds up.

The replacement unit is still working after 6 months of ownership so I'm added a star from 2 to 3.
