ItsAllAboutTime: The Blum 1/2 overlay hinge seemed to indicate 5mm from edge, but at that, the hinge interferes with the door edge, so I went with 3mm. I (you) really don’t need this tool, you just need a 35mm or a 1-3/8” forstner bit with a method to limit depth of cut. Such as with a drill press. The tool does limit depth of cut perfectly. You should have 2 Kreg tool clamps but I used just 1 successfully.

Gonzo: I used this to build some cabinets and they did exactly what they are supposed to be used for. I will use it time and time again. I used it for 6 cabinet doors and they were all perfect. do a practice one or two before actually using it on the final product. I made a mistake on the first one....the decided to clamp the base down for consistency. I would give it 5 stars if it had a clamp but gotta say the price is right!

Amazon Customer: Pretty pleased with this and how it worked, but it was difficult to reach the guide holes for the hinge screws because the chuck of the drill interfered with the shank of the forstner bit which remains in place to hold the jig in position. By the end of the project the holes were beginning to egg out a little bit.

CarCamper: My overall rating is based on the value for the money. I'm not a cabinet maker, just happen to be making a few cabinets. The bit is sharp and I believe if I treat it with care it will last a good amount of time. I don't believe the bit is HSS (high speed steel) but it is standard diameter, shaft included, so it can be replaced if needed. It's plastic so don't over clamp it tight and hold the drill in line, don't rely on this guide as the holder. I took a star off of Sheerness just because it's molded plastic, ABS me'tinks. Would have been better as some sort of polyester, maybe fiber reinforced. I recommend trying this and experiment a little before putting it on the final work.

TimG45: I tried to find the Kreg 35mm hinge kit, but it was not available anywhere. I needed to install hinges on a cabinet I was making (my first time using this type of hinge). The box containing the jig was also used as the shipping box (shipping label on the bottom, product label on the top) and is useful for storing the jig.
I have read many of the reviews, and was a little wary about purchasing this, but wanted the hinges installed.
I was not disappointed.
The instructions were written by someone for who English is not their native tongue. They were easy enough enough to figure out though.
The unit as a whole is solid and does not flex a lot in use - this is good when you are trying to accurately locate the hinges. The package includes everything but the hinges and a screwdriver: the jig base, bit cage/holder, 35mm Forstner bit, a small bit for drilling the screw pilot holes, a locator pin, a bit depth stop collar, a ball end allen wrench to tighten the collar, the aforementioned instructions and adapters to use with 26mm hinges (no 26mm bit).
