jamesjames: Does what it’s supposed to do, make a square and sturdy frame. As mentioned the included hardware was not the greatest, will likely replace soon, I predrilled everything and pre stained the wood for easy assembly. Great results.

Robert Fischer: I built a 5x6 foot gate with this kit. It does the job at half the price of the last gate kit I got off of Amazon. Could the screws be a little bigger, yes, but again for the money it works. Anyone building a gate probably has small parts around, nuts, bolts, etc. I used some of the supplied screws but also put 1/4x20 bolts and washers in the round tabs on the hinge assemblies and used some left over 3-inch deck screws in some other areas. Makes the mounting a little stouter. I'd buy the same kit again if I needed another gate.

Matt: These are decent quality hinges/brackets. I think the design could be improved on where the holes for screws are. Some are close to the edge and in the end grain. I don't have alot of confidence in those specific screws (Use your own, the ones provided look like drywall screws) but overall it should be fine. I bought 3 sets and 1 was slightly bent but was able to bend back in place. After install they all look good and function appropriately.

ComputechComputech: We made a new fence for privacy and found this was a good review kit for a gate. It would of been a perfect 5 star rating but needs longer screws. The included ones are just very small and cannot hold a heavy door especially if you go for 2x4 wood. We went with 2x4. We used our own separate latch. The included one wasn’t compatible with our design as it was going to latch on our house. The metal welds are sticking out, so the ends of the woods need to be shaven off to fit perfectly square. Overall it’s a good kit but needs small improvements to make it perfect. We are still very satisfied on how it turned out.

StudeStude: I also purchased a Homax gate kit for comparison. The two products looked like they could have come from the same factory except that the brackets from the Homax kit were of a lighter gauge. My fence is redwood but I used Douglass fir for the structural parts of the gate. Stained to match the redwood. I also substituted the supplied wood screws with some that are intended to mount cabinets. Be sure to drill pilot holes for the screws. Use a wood rasp or similar tool to knock the corners off of the wood pieces so that they sit tight in the brackets. An extra set of hands in assembly is handy but not necessary. I assembled mine alone. With help you’ll have the basis for a sturdy gate in thirty or forty minutes. My gate spans about five feet from post to post.
