Mizuno Prospect Youth Baseball Glove for Kids Ages 7-12

Amazon Customer: I purchased this glove for my 10 year old boy to play in little league this year. He has small hands, so this glove is perfect size for him. He may get more than one season out of it. I couldn't get my palm in it, so definitely not for an adult. Son swears that he cannot feel any sting from the ball. The palm has more padding than the gloves I remember having when I played as a little girl. Very impressed with it and wished that they made one for teens just like it.
It seems well made and only needs a little more break in time to be perfect. He is already fielding better. Excellent buy and good price from this seller.

John: First year of playing organized baseball, I was a little worried about size and type of glove to get my 8 year old son. Read a review of good gloves for kids and this kept showing up. Glad I got it. After he got comfortable with catching a baseball correctly with a smaller glove we already had, after a few weeks he asked for a little bigger glove. I had already ordered this glove for this eventuality. Only a half size bigger. We took it to the next practice and he was catching balls like a champ. No breaking in, no "getting used" to it, easy to squeeze. Put it on and snag baseballs. Some kids on the team have these cool looking, giant, heavy, stiff gloves and they look silly because they can't handle those things. They can't catch with them. He really likes this glove and is even using it when he plays catcher. I would get another one of these when he is ready to size up again. Great youth baseball glove!

Nicholas L. Sorrell: I started with other brand but wasn’t happy with the texture and stiffness of the material. These Mizuno gloves have very supple pigskin leather that takes conditioner very well. They break in in about 1 or two days. By break in, I sit down with them while I’m watching TV and massage and knead them, snack the pocket with a bat, and condition them over night.

My son started with the 10 inch and learned to catch at 5 years old. He was very good with the 10 inch before bumping him to the 10.75, just now at 6 years old. He is even better with that little larger pocket at snagging the glove side balls now. I coach and I tell all my parents to buy this glove. I’ve broken in around 10 of them now. They are simply the best and don’t waste your time with other brands/models.

Altitude: Good glove. I think it's misleading to say this gloves comes broken in, it does not. You still have to use glove oil/conditioner and play catch with it a number of times for it to loosen up. But the padding is very good (can hardly feel the ball even when hitting the palm) and I love the adjustable strap, will be good for my 7 year old's small wrists.

W. Brown: My boy is in his third season of baseball and outgrew his previous glove. He plays third base and normally fields the ball cleanly, but during practice for this upcoming season I noticed that several balls were passing through his legs. I quickly figured out that it was because he has grown, but his glove hasn't grown with him. He loves his new glove, and is back to his great defensive play. It required very little breaking in, and he was impressed with how soft the interior of the glove is. I have nicknamed his new glove "The place where doubles go to die."
