Mike H.Mike H.: ...BUYER BEWARE...
Despite everything in the item's description indicating that this is a 50 Watt LED array, it is not. One of the item's answered questions by "Rebekah Lea" on May 5, 2018 even indicates that this draws an actual 50 Watts. It doesn't. It draws 8.8 Watts. (see picture)
Nowhere in the item's description does it indicate that this lamp is a 50 Watt *equivalent*, which is what I believe this LED array actually is.
The heat sink design is pretty cool, but otherwise this product was misrepresented waste of time and money.
Edit 1/16/19--
The vendor contacted me today to let me know that they updated their product description to indicate the actual power draw of the LED lamp. They've gone above and beyond to try to remedy the situation so I'm changing my rating to 5 stars, since the LED lamp has been working great too.
Edit 12/9/18--
The vendor contacted me and apologized for the misrepresentation, and indicated more or less what they did in the response to my original comment. They also very generously offered a full refund, as well as a "100W" LED lamp, which arrived today. I think they went above and beyond to try to...

J. MarriottJ. Marriott: I have been very impressed with this light. I grow microgreens and over-winter herbs. This light has made a tremendous difference in my yield of microgreens and the heartiness of my herbs. Everything is more lush and a deeper green. My set up is very simple and it rotates daily but using just one bulb thus far has made a huge difference. The plants are supplementd with natural light in the early hours of the day but after the sun passes their window it is on the grow light. I turn it on around noon and it goes off around 10:30pm. It is on a timer.
I am using one bulb for a 24”x15” area that is often extended another 13” when needed. I find the light works well in this space. The light is about 20” above the plants. I am very pleased with the results. Have not had any problems with heat or plants not tolerating the bulb. I plan on purchasing another bulb and extending my growing as this light has made all the difference.

Delaney: We have live planted vivariums, I thought I would try this bulb in the reptile hoods and see what it was like. First off it fits in zoo med or flukes light holders. The light casts the critters in a funky purple light. But it has definitely helped our vivarium plants grow. I have a planted chameleon and a planted Gecko enclosure - they have similiar plants, same substrate, same humidity, same size enclosure (the only difference is the temperature the geckos are at room temp, the chameleon is at 80. I put the light on the chameleon enclosure and within one week her bromeliads were blooming. Without the growth light it took the geckos an extra 2 weeks to bloom. As for growth, the pothos in the chameleon enclosure is very healthy and growing everywhere, the geckos pothos is doing okay, but it is no where the size of the chameleon Pothos. I did use it every day during my little experiment, now I use it every other day, I just want them to stay alive not create a jungle.

N. GregorioN. Gregorio: Pros:
- Robust Growth
- Low Cost
- Long Bulb Life
- LEDs are more effective as grow lights
- Relatively low heat
- Makes a big difference in Winter months, and dark areas of the home
- Pink lights are super cool but harmful to eyes
Neutrals:
- Medium efficiency energy consumption (50W)
- Very few white light LEDs
Cons:
- Very harsh, and harmful type of light for your eyes. Damaging, and straining.
- Uses a higher wattage than normal in an LED bulb
I’ve been using these bulbs for over a year now. There is no doubt about the effectiveness of the bulbs. Great value for the money, and still going strong. I have (2) 100W, and (3) 50W placed strategically to supplement houseplants that need higher light, in darker areas of my home.
Excellent when used with a self timer. I keep them on for about 14 hours a day.
Harmful for eyes, but I only keep them on when I’m
not home.
