Dale "JR!": In the past couple of months i have bought 5 different cooling towels from Amazon, this being the fifth one, and the 2nd Mission. At work i tend to run hot and sweat a lot, so this past summer i have had to come up with ways of keeping myself cool. I bought the first three to find out if cooling towels really even worked, before spending the extra money on a big name like Mission. Well i really like all three of them, and all those first tree cost well under 10$ each.

So now that im confident i can spend the extra cash on a Mission, i buy a standard size one from their Max line for 17$. The only thing it has over my first three is that it doesn't get smelly, but that is it!
It slides off my neck if i fold it first, which i do because, well, i dont want it dangling down while im working! And it dont stretch out so... yea.
And here's a good one. After i activate it exactly how you're supposed to and put it around my neck a huge majority of the water gradually collects at the tips. Now thats great because I've heard that when you're overheating, applying a cool towel to your nipples helps lower your body temp! Not your neck, no no your nipples!

You would think...

Emily D.Emily D.: As someone who hikes and wears my little one in a carrier on my back or on my chest, something was needed for the summer months to help keep both the baby and myself cool. Someone suggested these towels to me so I bought a couple. Before using them, though, I highly suggest reading up on them, like other reviewers have stated. In really humid heat, they are not nearly as good as dry heat. Unfortunately, where I live the heat is often humid. Because it's generally humid, I am aware that these towels are not working at their full potential.

Humidity or not aside, the towels do have a cooling effect, even in the humidity. It isn't as much of a cooling effect as if it were in a dry heat, but it works. When wearing my daughter, these are great to wrap around my neck to keep me cooled off while she is so close. And because they do not cool off as low as they would in dry heat, they don't hurt my child if she happens to have her body against the towel.

Using the towel is simple. Get it wet, wring out the excess water, snap it a few times and let it cool you down. Simple and easy. You can even use it with your own sweat instead of water if you aren't near water or want to...

Cat J: Is it like having a lovely cool towel on your neck ALL of the time when you are outside? No. Is it a good tool to have when you are outside and it is hot? Absolutely!

We bought these for when we are outside working on building a deck. I thought it was a little gimmicky at first, but they are actually pretty handy to have a around. We have washed them but then hang them up to dry. We did NOT put these in the dryer.

Pros:
- lightweight
- convenient as a towel around your neck, or even a bandanna around your head
- keeps the sun off your skin
- keeps the sweat out of your eyes
- doesn't dry out as fast as a bandanna

Cons
- It doesn't stay cool forever - you do have to keep rewetting it

@A_Random_Bloke: The cooling wrap that is okay.

I live in MA, where it's a bit humid and as this product states, has reduced effect and that's true. When made wet and wrung dry, it is a very cool towel that stays cool for a good couple of hours or more.

It's a bit awkward to keep on and in place so I have it over my shoulders, under a t-shirt and works quite well, but it's best cooling is when it catches a breeze but it does cool you down, in the mid 80's-90's F at least.

Works as a nice wicker type towel as well to wrap over head under a cap, or wrapped around your arms.

Bright orange is certainly bright, though the other side of this is grey. Well stitched.

I don't think it works as well as the claims but it's quite good.
