Matt McKay: Great for that hard to reach spot.

Walt: I purchased this item because I had a plastic one that I had purchased from petco but I needed something a little more sharper To clean the algae off my saltwater tank glass. I only gave it 3 stars Because 1. the blades are a very thin and double-sided which
Made me a little nervous when I was trying to put the blades into the handle. Which wasn't easy.
2. Lack of a safety cover to put on the blade once I was finished using it. If you need to store it away it can be very dangerous.
Once I tried it out on my glass. I was satisfied with the performance.

Micah: Easy to put together.
The blades are sharp and cut right through any algae on the glass.
Using both rods, long enough to get to the bottom of my 55 gallon tank.
Only downside is the rods are kind of thin, put much pressure and things flex and bow. Makes me worry about putting too much oressure when scraping stubborn gunk near the base of my tank. Just gotta be gentle.

Was a good thing I got: The only problem is the blades break easily

Kitty: Cleaned the Algae off my aquarium. I would recommend taking it apart to dry out when done using it to avoid any chances of rusting if left wet for too long.

rdb39180: Wasted $ on other items, like the magnetic scraper, but nothing would put a dent in the green stuff glued to the sides of my tank. This cuts through algae with no problem. It also comes with a liberal amount of replacement blades. I haven't noticed any scratches yet on my tank (glass), as others have mentioned. The only drawback is that the handle is pretty long, which is great if you have a large tank, with clearance above (and I didn't even receive the extension rod, so double check your packages!), not so great if you have a 5g on a shelf. I have to scrape at awkward sideways angles, which makes the blade 'skip'. If the handle was telescoping, it would be perfect!

Robert Posey: I have had these tiny tufts of green algae pestering me for years that my magnet took... well more time and effort than I was willing to give to clean off.

This scraper removed all of that in one pass usually.

I have been using the one plade for sever cleanings with out a problem. No scratching. But you should be aware that this could easily scratch your tank. If you chip or nick the blade on a rock that can cause scratches. and use the blade with even pressure, dont try to use a corner of the blade. I also am worried about accidentally hitting the silicone and oof that could be a wet mess quickly, so I just leave the corners dirty.

And the build quality is great, I have no Idea how anyone has broken one of these by using it with an appropriate amount of pressure. Which is like no pressure, once the razor is flat on the glass the sharp edge just lifts the algae off, no need to scrub or flex the blade.

Great buy and a must have for any glass aquarium owner!

Jessica Woodworth: I actively went looking to see when I could review this scraper since it's so good at its job! We have a 55 gallon aquarium and the stubborn green algae that grows has always proven quite hard to remove with the scrubber I used before, and using this razor blade system made incredibly short work of it! So much so that I then bought another for my twin sister's aquarium. Thank you for such a wonderful product!

J. Allen: I have a huge salt water reef tank and there are times when I go away so algae (hard green) builds up. I have always said the razor blade is the only way and the easiest to get it off, only problem was the crappy plastic blade holders of the past would break and fall apart. Love this unit. Don’t be afraid to dig in but watch your silicon seams. I have a starfire glass tank so have to be careful but it works great! Highly recommend. Cheers!

Justine TadenaJustine Tadena: It's great! Perfect size too. It comes with a textured handle you can screw on the main hand that holds the blade AND it comes with an extender which you can screw on the main hand, and then screw the holder in the back!

The blade is sharp, scrapes algae right off my glass and polycarbonate tanks!

Just be careful when putting the scarper on the glass so you dont scratch it like for example don't rush and scrub like crazy, and dont move the blade horizontally accross the glass.

Put pressure, but not too much.

No instructions included but it's super easy to install. Just refer to the picture and be careful not to cut yourself!

I've not owned it long enough to notice any rusting. (Many aquarium products claim "stainless steel" but sometimes it's just not true but can't confirm with this one yet)
