SQUEELONWOW: As long you clean out the food trap often and maybe run this without any dishes, there's no funk. I also always try to keep the door ajar so that it breathes, same for the washer. Even on the express cycle, dishes are clean and super shiny.
It does leave any white powder on tupperware. I wished I found it sooner. I have been giving away a few to family and friends to try. I will never go back to cascade or jet dry.

Karin: We have very hard well water and have a water softener. In the past, this created a problem with hazing glasses and spots inside of my dishwasher. Most dishwashing detergent is made to soften the water, but if it made too soft it will etch your glassware and ruin the interior of your dishwasher.
I have found that if I cut these tablets and only half (I store them in an airtight container) they work amazingly with soft water! My dishes come out perfectly clean and spotless, and I only scrape them before loading the dishwasher. It will will even cut through dried-on egg!
I will never use another product!

Paul W. Jones: We use the Miele Dishwasher Tabs in a Miele Dishwasher, and they work well together. The tabs are tough to find in grocery and department stores, but Amazon makes them fairly easy, we just put them on Subscribe & Save. Not particularly cheap, but gets the job done. Some of the more common alternatives are much more smelly, which you really do not want on dishes and glasses.

KarDu: A little pricey but this detergent includes the rinse agent so you should turn the setting off or down for rinse-aid on your machine. Dishes, plastics and glasses come out spotless, never have any detergent residue left in the detergent reservoir and no buildup in my dishwasher. No problems with streaking or etching. The ‘plastic’ wrap on each tablet dissolves, therefore, does not need to be removed The only reason I am deducting a star is because I am only supposed to use a 1/2 tab in each of my dishwasher drawers (I have a double drawer unit) and find these hard to split. If this is something that you’ll need to do, make sure to use a very sharp knife to avoid crumbling; this is where keeping the plastic casing on is helpful. For some reason one side of the tablet is easier to cut through than the other so flip it around to experiment because you can’t tell visually.
