MTSHAWAII: We use ours to prevent our Black Labs from leaving our back deck. I installed it myself and I have lots of numbness in my hands along with limited mobility after surgery. So if I can install it, you can too. Once it's installed properly, it's solid. Unless you have 2 big Black Labs. Our big boy ran past the gate on his way out and clipped the side and the gate came crashing down. He's almost 100 lbs, not wary of this or any gate, and not the most graceful when chasing after something. Quick reinstall and we're solid again.

I do wish there was a way to design the bottom part of the gate without having the bar that runs across the threshold. It puts a bump where you didn't have one before.

Having said that, we're still very happy with the gate.

NikD: Impressed with the quality of this gate: well packaged, very sturdy, joints and latch felt durable, clear install instructions. This is a great gate for someone who wants to mainly keep it shut. Unfortunately, there's no auto-open feature, but it's spring loaded so it automatically closes. That's a deal- breaker for me, using it in a hallway to limit our toddler. Regrettably returning it .

Shopper: I bought this because one of my cats was peeing on our carpets (she had an ear infection). It was very easy to install and has kept 2 out of 3 of my cats from entering the room with carpet. Our 3rd cat can jump over, but he isn’t a “problem child,” so it did it’s job perfectly for me! I would recommend this to anyone with animals or children!

Cindy: This gate is truly easy to install and very sturdy. We have a 3yr. old and he occasionally does like to pull and hang on it and we have also tugged on it pretty hard to test it out, and it has stayed in place without slipping or getting loose. it is also a very nice height for us since one of our dogs thinks she is an Olympian and likes to hurdle gates and items used to block her, but she has not tried to jump this gate. We have had other gates and they do become loose when pulled on but this one has been great and very sturdy. I also like that the gate open 2 ways, in and outward which is a benefit. We have ours in the doorway of a bedroom.

BonJour: This is the best dog gate we've had; simple system, very efficient for our front door to prevent dogs from charging out.

Installation is a bit more difficult than anticipated, even with all the instructions. Because of the distance in the locking mechanism, it was harder to install straight on one side. I wish they would've put additional round stickers for when you need to readjust.

Now as it reduces the space in the doorway, should you need to move something big, you need to remove the entire thing and put it back: this would be highly inconvenient if it needed to occur often so consider that aspect before choosing this model.

That being said, I would order it again if needed as it works perfectly with my dogs.

Jason: Easy install, minimal wall damage, tricky to open but door swings both ways. Wish it had a stay open mode for the door for times your bringing in groceries etc…

MandieMandie: This is holding up very well for our dog (mud) room! I was skeptical as my 130lbs malamute/pyrenees pup and his 110lbs Pyrenees mom like to stand on the gates when you come home and they've broken a few. The dad, a malamute rottie cross and our german shepherd are talented to open doors or nudge gates open but this one defeats them. I'm so pleased. Installed in February, its gotten absolutely filthy from mud season, leaned on, bumped into and is holding well. We humans also had a learning curve to not kick the frame along the floor. Whatever its a right of passage... Should note the hubby used glue on the wall and for the pegs going into the pucks. Just needs the odd adjustment for stability from time to time and its golden. I thought I should do a review before I clean it to show the beating it takes. Some of them swipe their paws on it to tell us they want in. The only thing is the door does not stay open if opened all the way so we added a chain and hook (attached to the door frame) to hold it open whenever. I do love that it closes on its own. All in all, I'm shocked. With the 4 of them living with this gate and daily use, its been thru some things.
