This is the second time I have purchased this cage. I had one for an amazon and then a conure years ago, and gave it with the conure when he was adopted. That version, in my memory, was very tightly constructed and fit together with no concerns that it would fall apart. Do not miss the information that this cage has no screws or bolts, it holds together purely by tabs fitting into slots. I never worried about my amazon’s security in the previous version. This one, I don’t know, maybe the production has been cheapened. The metal is still high quality, but I had to re-shape several vent tabs with a pliers to get the cage to go together. None of the walls fit tightly. The whole thing is secured by the top surface slotting into tabs on the sides, but this fit was so loose I could lift it right out again. If the assembled cage without modifications were to fall or even be bumped it could all come apart. I plan to use the cage for my greys and eclectus to get some outside time, and no way it is secure enough as assembled to take them even on the deck. So now I have the cage further secured with about 10 cable ties at all corners, and a few extra in case a bird...

The cage is much heavier than expected. It is a thick gauge iron which is good, but its very heavy and for travelling can be quite difficult. putting it together isnt complicated, but as many other reviewers mentioned, some of the parts need a little hit here and there to get them into alignment. Nothing major. the rope perch is good, but I will be using my own, it isnt the best of quality. Other than that, totally reccomend this for travelling/overnight stays. I have 2 conures which fit into it no problem. I also think mine came missing with a spring, that is suppsoed to connect to the bottom to prevent teh tray from sliding out (or so the instructions say), but i just put in a screw and left enough room to spin the plastic stopper if i need to lock/open it.

Love this cage! I bought it because of the safety feature allowing you to run the seat belt through the bottom of the cage. I haven’t tried it yet. It was easy to assemble but I did have to pry the slots open to slide in the side panels. The stainless bowls holders didn’t quite fit in the holes. We had to use pliers to bend the wire inward. After a few attempts they fit. It also comes with a touch up paint in case of scratches or rust. The rope is rigid. It can be bent to the shape to fit in the cage. A bit long to install straight across. Overall, it didn’t take long to assemble despite the extra steps. Lot’s of space for our Quaker. It’s true it’s heavy but it’s a solid, well made cage. We will use this cage to bring our bird outside with us. The cage was well packaged, no damage.

It has been more than 2 years for me since i bought this cage at amazon for a great price, i decided to post a review for it now. It came in perfect condition. But it required good instructions to assemble it, anyhow it was assembled in 30 mins. Some of the parts required rubber mallet to fit the parts into right slots. After it was assembled it looked great and sturdy and heavy! (Note: some of the screws were missing in the assembly process but it is not a big deal.)
I have been using this cage for my African Grey Parrot as a sleeping cage and to travel by car for long distances. the cage is very sturdy and its QUITE HEAVY! if you are trying to use this cage to move around the house a lot, then this is not the cage for you. this cage is heavy, but if you are able to lift it easily then its k. but for the people who cant lift heavy stuff all the time or old people, then you need to find a different cage, I have kept this cage at the same place in my house and i move it very occasionally unless required.
After using it for 2 years constantly as a sleeping cage. My bird is quite safe and content in it for the whole night. It has a large space for her...
