Amazonian Connoisseur: Needing this saw to install new baseboards in my house. This thing is a champ, well made works great and comes with a great blade to the saw. I had no issues with it during my one week of use. Can't speak to longevity but seems well built. For the price it can't be beat.

WildBill: The Sub-fence is completely useless and does not attach as shown. The majority of advertisement pictures only shows the left side of the saw, to avoid showing that the sub-fence isn't attached.
The steel bar that is meant to hold the sub-fence is not provided, the steel bar that is provided is meant as a back up handle behind the saw.

Joe D.: The Metabo (formerly Hitachi) is a great 10" Miter Saw for light woodworking or home improvement. It was square out of the box, with extendable wings, and a solid base.
Miter Saws are about cross cutting wood to length, so shop for what you need. If you aren't a pro or a contractor and you only need a Miter Saw for projects around the house buy this saw. Less than $150, ample power, and cuts square and angles, there is literally nothing else you need. Pros have to get the 12" Sliding Dual Bevel Saw, you don't. So there's is bigger but you have $400 extra dollars in your pocket and a saw for your needs.

Judy R.: I really like the saw once I got it assembled, it's been put to use for various projects. But...The instructions are terrible, took me close to 2 hours and I'm quite handy and have used various tools for years. Just keep studying the actual machine and you'll figure out where a few pieces go. I'd read other reviews noting how bad the assembly instructions were but didn't think they'd be as badly written as they turned out. When done, I laughed and said now I know what this thing can do and how it works. Just buy this Metabo miter saw and leave yourself some quiet time to get it up and going.

I love this saw, it had done all the cutting easily and cleanly. All its table settings are easy to read and use.
It's easy to collapse down for storage and light weight for transportation.
It's a well built, solid machine and I am very impresses with it. It's my favorite saw by far.
I dont know if it would hold up to heavy daily use for contractors, but for a DYI hobbyists it's perfect.
I would highly recommend this saw to anyone.
