The WOLVERINE Mens W04821 Buccaneer Work Boot is the perfect choice for your work and safety needs. It offers superior comfort, is easy to maintain, and has a stylish design. You'll be sure to be satisfied with the overall quality of this boot. Get the job done right with this work boot!DC: I didn't have to break them in. I usually have problems with the insoles too as my feet do hurt after a long day but even without my custom orthotics in these boots my feet still feel comfortable. So this is by far the best pair of boots I've purchased and I've spent a lot on Lugz and Timberlands.

Cathy Barnard: My husband loves these boots. He wears them for work (Autobody repair) and he says they are super comfortable and they last a long time. Highly would recommend these boots.

Rufuss: Boots arrived this morning (2 days earlier than estimated). The boot colour is more a classic dark tan than the reddish brown indicated in the Amazon product photo.
These are good looking boots, not at all typical of work boots. Kept clean and presentable they could be worn as casual boots - if clunky boots is your fashion style. Very smart.
Then I tried them on. Horror, shock. They felt way too big, hard and unforgiving. So I donned a pair of thick hiking boot socks. Ah, much better, but still too big in the toe box and a little too much movement of the heel on one foot (the other was fine). So I added another thin innersole under the Wolverine one (which are nice BTW). Hey presto. Comfy as. Snug but not tight. Still enough room to wiggle the toes but no more heel movement. I've worn them all day and have been comfortable. I reckon another day or two and they'll be fully broken in (so soon).
FYI, I actually need a US 12 1/2 so had to purchase a 13 (I know from experience that a 12 is too short).
I purchased these for a very specific task - spending several weeks trudging around in mangroves and mud for 12 hours a day, every day. A big ask of any shoe,...

Mr. Howell: FINALLY- a nice pair of waterproof boots at a reasonable price! Many of the brands I used to buy and rely on, have reduced their quality in the last few years, to the point where I can no longer buy them [Think Timberland; Georgia Boot; Herman Survivors...]- I had never tried Wolverines in the past, but had always wanted to, so I thought I'd give them a shot.
I've had these Wolverines for over a month now...and I am very impressed- so much so, that I am going to order a 2nd pair.
They seem to wear well, and I think they will be durable (I'm not too hard on boots....but it seems that the finishing on many these days is so thin, that a new pair of boots will be all scuffed/scraped up in a few days- just from normal use- i.e. walking around; kneeling; etc. But these Wolverines are still looking good!
They were comfortable from day-one! Required no breaking-in at all.
Of course, they look great!
The lacing system is fast and easy.
The soles offer good traction and comfort, and yet are not the heavily-lugged variety, which trap mud and dirt. These soles stay clean, and are easy to clean when you do get crud on them.
Of course, it will...

maverick: I brought these slightly "used" from Amazon Warehouse deals for 50% off the $160.95 normal price for my size and width. So please note, my review is based on getting a good deal on these. Honestly, if I had paid full price I would be a lot more critical of the nits or may have returned them as the previous owner did!
These replaced a pair of 27+ yr old Elkwood boots I brought from Sears sometime between 1988 and 1991.
These are a handsome pair of boots. The quality of the leather upper is par excellence! The leather is corrugated like bison and buffalo leather! The leather feels thick and firm. The metal hinges for the shoe laces seem durable and robust. The boots have ample heft to them and provide ample support for the ankles. Although this boot (W04821) is not steel toe (for that go with the W04820), the toe box is rigid and hardened, and therefore provides good protection
FLAWS:
1. The grey part of the bottom, the transition rubber where the leather upper meets the sole, has a number of small air-bubbles. But I think these are superficial and only at the surface of the rubber. A half-inch portion of this material seems to also been repaired at the...
