Alan: Pros:
*) there are 2 sizes available and additionally 2 ways to adjust shoulder straps - by length and attachment height. It is possible to find a perfect fit;
*) trekking poles attachment system is really nice. I was skeptic but it turned out to be quite convenient;
*) the backpack does not pull me backwards when full - as compared to others;
*) the back mesh is uniform - there is no "bumps" that are major weight transfer points;
*) once hip belt is in place and adjusted the weight spreads over pelvis so there is no excessive pressure on shoulders. For me it is extraordinary because with Deuter Futura, Wisport and some Karrimor backpacks(all with vent. mesh) I couldn't do this. Firstly, because shoulder straps attachment height could not be adjusted to my body and secondly, because ventilation mesh on the back(and/or hip strap) was not uniform;
*) I find the main compartment opening/closing system(pull-string) fast and comfortable;
Cons:
*) there could be one or two zipped pockets inside for storing valuables and small things;
I don't know yet how well the AirSpeed mesh ventilation system "ventilates" because for now I...

Amazon Customer: Best mid-sized pack I've ever had. Kept searching for the right pack for three months. I don't usually post Amazon reviews, but this well-designed, quality thing deserved it.
Pros:
Rides like a dream. Carries 35-40 lbs of heavy camera gear so, so well. I've never had a pack ride so well.
The large version fits a 6'1" person like me wonderfully.
Hip belt adjusts smoothly, nice padding.
I like the "Airspeed Suspension" mesh back for air flow to keep sweating reduced.
Durable fabric. It'll get scuffed but it seems tough and able to last 20+ years if you take care of it.
Nice to have a rain cover embedded in the bottom. I love that feature on LowePro camera bags.
The trekking pole attachment is useful, I suppose. I haven't needed it too much.
If you don't pack the brain and don't overstuff the mains, my large version fits just right in an Airbus 320 overhead compartment. This tickled me pink. I didn't think I'd succeed at this, given the dimensions exceed what most airlines supposedly tolerate, but it fit.
Cons:
I docked a star because of that godawful toggle system with a flat cord to access the main compartment...

Exploration HSE AdvisorExploration HSE Advisor: A number of good design hits but also a number of misses. This is an interim report of this pack while I await Osprey to consider if they will send me a longer waist strap. I have the Atmos 65 as well as Exos 38 Osprey packs, both model of which the waist belt lengths have not been a problem; admittedly on these the customer could choose M size whereas this Stratos 50 has either S/M or L/M but not specifically S, M. or L. Although I am not thin, I am not fat either; my trouser size is 36. The strap on this Stratos 50 is only long enough for me in the summer when I am wearing base layer + a shirt but won't be long enough to go around if I was wearing additionally a mid layer fleece and a double layer Ventile top layer.
I bought this Stratos 50 after two years of searching for a replacement of Berghaus Freeflow Pro Mens Backpack - 50 litre, neither Atmos AG nor Exos design features quite match the Berghaus Freeflow's pocket features. However,. all three Osprey have been superior in comfort on the shoulders but have other disadvantages. On the Stratos 50 these were :-
1. The adjustable "trampoline" back is not the same design as Atmos nor of Exos - there is a large velcro...

Luciana A.Luciana A.: This is an excellent, reliable, incredibly light backpack for hiking, camping, traveling, etc.
The Osprey Stratos 50 backpack is only a few pounds. Which for all the features and spaces to pack away items, this is a huge plus.
After having this for several years and using the backpack for hiking (rain and shine), canoeing, filling it to it's max and overnight camping, this is a very well-made, quality pack. There isn't a tear anywhere as you can see in our pictures.
All of the straps are easy to adjust while the pack is empty or full. Hiking/walking with the pack you can adjust the straps with ease and they stay in place.
The top lid of the pack has two different compartments, one inside and out. You can reach the outer one when you have the pack on. Also, if you have it on there's a zipper that opens the main compartment, this is on the left side. It's nice to have when you need to get something quick and do not want to unpack your bag.
The main inner part has a large pocket that is against the back. We've found this to be a perfect spot for our CamelBak 2L reservoir. Fits it perfectly.
The compression, hip and sternum straps are nice as...

Schlafsack, Kocher, Gaskartusche etc. alles rein. (ca. 7/8 kg geladen)
Selbst mit diesem Gewicht keine spur davon auf meinem Rücken. Einfach toll.
Die ersten...

Trekker: P E R F E C T A Y P O L I V A L E N T E

Dad: I love it! We bought it for a weekend Backcountry hike in Rocky Mountain National Park. The top has a handy zippered pocket to put maps and readily available necessities close at hand. Inside the lot is a roomy pocket for more essentials and smaller items. The front pocket is roomy enough for my rain gear and an open sleeve fits bug spray and other items, though not as securely. The bottom compartment is lined and fit my sleeping bag and pad fairly cozy. The inside held a 3l bladder, some tools, mess kits, a stove, and a weekend's worth of clothes and a jacket. The straps make it fully adjustable from stuffed to daytime essentials. The side mesh panels offer ample room for water bottles or camp fuel canisters. The belt is super comfortable and adjustable. The belt pockets are great for snacks, compass, or other small items. What impressed me the most was the back harness and webbing that maximizes air flow. I am a heavy sweater especially with a load on. I still sweat but nowhere near as bad. The integrated rain cover did well to keep the rain of the pack but the pack managed by to repel the rain for a while. Ultimately a great pack for a weekend romp and for the price.

Mom and Physician: I also have both the Osprey Aether 85 and Osprey Escapist 32. I think the Stratos 50 is my favorite of all my packs. It can synch down and shrink pretty small, it has great organization, and I can use it to pack my stuff, my kid’s stuff, camera equipment, etc. for day hikes. I can squeeze my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge in the belt pocket (with difficulty), and can get a large camera insert into the pack without issue. I was hesitant in getting this pack as I wanted an external water pocket so as not to potentially soak my camera gear, but I can actually hang a bladder between the mesh panel and the pack with the handle and a clip.
The only thing I miss from my Escapist 32 is I like the top soft material sunglasses pocket. I would prefer a smaller top zipper pocket or extra zipper pocket with a soft lining, but this is a very miner quibble. (Kids constantly either want their sunglasses or don’t.) Overall it is excellent and I look forward to more use as the kids get bigger and can last longer on hikes.

nawaz rahman: Riktigt bra väska där alla förpackningar är välplanerade. Sitter bekvämt på ryggen och väskan låter ryggen andas tack vare Ospreys airspeed ryggsystem.
