Morgan Underwood: These are amazing for keeping kids busy, especially in quiet environments. We bring these to church, road trips, sporting events and more. It's nice because there is a storage space for the water "marker" and all you need to do is fill them before you go somewhere or have access to water when you get there. It's a no noise activity and keeps our kids focus for quite awhile. We love the magic color marker ones, but once those have been used once, you have to toss them. These dry quickly and can be used again and again. STOCKING STUFFER idea!!

Sandra: Excellent. Any product made by Melissa and Doug I found are great. The pens don't leak and are made of a very durable hard plastic that screws on. The pictures when wet are vibrant and lovely. The only thing that I would say I don't like is that is dries up very fast and I haven't even finished the picture. Overall it is worth buying.

janeo: Intimidated by "regular"messy paint sets and "one time use" paper books using water to activate, I decided to purchase a set of these reusable spiral bound paint-with-water BOARD BOOKS that utilize water filled "pen brushes" for young ones to create beautiful pictures. To me the REAL beauty is that they are not too messy, they can be used over and over, and the activity is pretty much self-contained (the pen-brush has a it's own storage space within the book when not in use).

To use, simply fill the pen-brush reservoir with water, glide it over the picture, and watch it transform into a colorful picture. The pictures dry pretty quickly (sometimes too quickly if your child takes too much time painting), however if your little painter is overzealous with the water, it can "puddle" a bit. To facilitate painting multiple pictures in the same book, we place a half sheet of paper towel over each completed picture. MCMC: What an excellent "painting" activity. Simply unscrew the little brush, fill with water and paint. Even my son (nearly 3) can do it. The pages are like individual boards with a scene on them that's all uncolored pictures. When the water hits them with this excellent brush (no leaking, just the right amount of water, perfect for little hands to hold, safe!) hidden animals and objects show up as the water touches them. The colors are so vibrant. Such a nice change from those typical magic marker books. The pages hold up well and when the water dries it returns to white. (It doesn't take super long to dry and the book can be closed and they still dry. It is enough time to color a page so it doesn't dry before they finish coloring which is nice. There are also objects listed which you are supposed to find on the page. My son wasn't super interested in that part (yet) He's more excited just to paint the picture. This is a great travel book since no mess. You do need to empty the water since theres no cap but it probably keeps it cleaner that way. The brush can lay sideways and not leak. Holds the water well.
