and i feel like to bolts that connects the metal and aluminum frame is small only 10mm. im thinking of adding another 4 12mm bolts for more secure cargo.

Jonathan V.: I purchased this to use on our Highlander. The first box arrived with damaged parts, a few pieces were smashed likely in manufacturing as the box had no damage itself. Amazon sent the replacement out very quickly. Everything was fine in that box. The instructions are not very clear, but if you place the main shaft in your hitch receiver and snap the side rails together and the add the bottom rails in and lightly finger tighten them and then when finished tighten all of them it goes pretty smooth. It is decent sized, I am able to haul 4 18 gallon Roughneck totes on it with easy. My previous one was slightly smaller, but much more sturdy. This one will work for what I need it for, but I am not sure that it will last nearly as long. the side rails connections are just plastic that snaps together.

KatherineKatherine: I love this because it folds up out of the way when not in use so I don’t back it into anything. However it arrived dented and missing a couple rivets. I was going to live with the dents. They’re small. But not missing rivets!

ChrisC: Item came well packed. The aluminum construction saves weight. Instructions are not clear, but easy enough; it took me about 30 minutes to figure out and put together.

The no-weld, drill + rivet and friction based rack construction lowers cost works, but may not have the strength/ longevity desired for some use cases. Someone complained about sound of alum shavings inside the tubes, and it was in mine too.

I had 2 airline approved luggages, a duffle and a large cooler put into a Reese cargo cover strapped to the rack. We used a cut to size plywood at the base to distribute weight more evenly. It worked well for a 1000 mile round trip at highway speeds with no perceptible drag/ loss in mpg.

We also appreciate that we got the rack that folds 90 degrees vertical when not in use.

Mario Jolicoeur: Malheureusement la bracket pour unir les deux parties, il y en a une qui n'était pas souder au bon endroit,deux pouces en bas du logement de fixation a la remorque,j'en avais de besoin tout de suite, nous partons pour notre voyage,j'ai dut fabriquer des plaques de metal pour etre capable de m'en servir.
