Amazon Customer: We bought a wall clock that chime’s like your at Westminster in jolly old England. The store owner told us to not use the powerful alkaline batteries, coppertop, etc., to run the clock as they are to much for the circuitry to handle and the clock will not function properly. He offered free Maxell batteries for the life of the clock if we just came back. I ran out and tried all I had, an Energizer battery. He was right, the clock went out of sink with the chimes and was really screwed up. I went back to the less powerful batteries after I reset the clock and it’s run perfectly onward.

jerry.wink: It came in the retail packaging and were charged. I am using them to power a chess clock. I might use it for a few hours once a month. I've had the clock for almost three years and the batteries that came with it just recently went completely out. I've only had them for a few months, but so far, no defects.
To be fair, I rated five stars. There's only so much a simple battery can do and I will assume it will last me long enough. If the battery should fail, I will return and adjust the rating accordingly.
##UPDATE##
It is December 4, 2016 a solid three and a half years later and these batteries are still powering my chess clock. I think I will forever buy these batteries!

Jonquil: These "batteries," as you call them, were amazing! They adequately segregated the anions and cations, and the charge seemed to flow more smoothly than other batteries I have experienced. I can say from my experience it seemed like Maxell added a little kick to these beauties as I could have sworn I detected more than the usual 1.5 v. Thank you for this amazing product!
