Yves Laverdière: Moyen en terme de résistance et d'efficacité, posé selon les instructions
Mais très loin d'une soudure

Karl N.Karl N.: I found a leak in the line out of the evaporator core of our VW Jetta to the connection at the expansion valve. A hole had corroded through the pipe at the point where a sealing flange makes contact with it. The ultimate fix is to replace the evap core (beacuse that pipe is integral with the core), but that means taking out the dashboard - something I really didn't want to do, if it could be helped.

After a little online digging, I came across Alum Bond and thought to give it a try. I cleaned the area of the corrosion on the inside of the pipe (I ran a shop vac near it to keep particles out of the system) and then applied Alum Bond to the *inside* of the pipe. I figured in this way the adhesion of the epoxy would be aided by the pressure from the system constantly keeping pressure on the leak point. The system leak-tested fine, and has been running well since it was charged back up and put back into use about a month ago.

I realize that eventually further corrosion of the pipe at that flange could require me to replace the evaporator core at some point, but hopefully I've bought some more time before I face that. In the meantime, we are enjoying ice-cold AC in our...

Buyer: Product vastly exceeded my expectations, didn't honestly expect it to work but gave it a try as a cheap alternative to a "proper" R&R repair (rear A/C line on a 2016 Explorer, due to the routing of the OEM lines they require a significant amount of disassembly and labor to replace; aftermarket kits with flexible hose are available but cost $400-500). I had a pinhole corrode through the line right where the end fitting is attached, which is an especially difficult application for an adhesive repair due to inevitable contaminant entrapment at the joint seam. I did prep the area very meticulously (which is vital for any work with aluminum) - scrubbed with detergent to remove refrigerant oil and road grime, etc., then wire brush with stainless steel to roughen surface and remove oxides. I slathered the product liberally around the ENTIRE seam to seal off any leak paths around the perimeter, and it's still holding strong a year later. I'm generally very skeptical of miracle-cure "Mechanic-in-a-Can" type products but I'm glad I took the chance on this one, can't recommend highly enough.

Echo9: Not cheap, but cheaper than the others I could find. Seems to be doing the job fine so far . Would recommend.

Billy t.: I have a 08 Saturn outlook one problem after another but thankfully this product saved a very expensive repair lines against the firewall they have two ac lines that run together and lay on top of eachother and eventually rubbed a small hole into one of the lines. The lines run to the back of the car with an estimated cost of up to $2000 to replace no way we were going that route. This stuff is a little runny followed directions exactly had to reapply a few times during the drying process because it kept running but I’ve had the air running for a week and it seems to be holding well. We also tied back the hose that rubbed against it and caused the issue to begin with because of its horrible placement. I would recommend this product I just wish it had a thicker consistency to not run so much. It would be great for stuff that’s not slanted where it all runs downward. It does work you just might have to play with the application a little bit. It was worth a try the cost of new ac lines that run to the back was ridiculous and so far this product saved the day. If you have a Saturn outlook and don’t have this problem yet. Hurry and separate the hoses because it’s only a matter...

John Carlisle: Works as advertised, doesn't stink. I got an all in one computer as an open box and found the aluminum stand had cracked during shipping. This stuff welded the part together and it is as strong as before the break. It dries to a dull aluminum color, so it also matches.

Camden Poobah: July 2021 Update: AC system is still working fine.

My 2004 WRX developed leaks at all the common locations--both compressor lines, and both condensor lines. Replaced all the O-rings with the Harbor Freight HNBR O-ring kit, and checked again for leaks with the "POCKETMAN SK68 One Mode 300LM Zoomable 396nm UV-Ultraviolet LED Blacklights Flashlight", from Amazon (uses a 14500 battery or AA--very helpful for finding leaks), and found she was leaking from the ferrule nearest the compressor, on the discharge line. The leak was coming from the hard-line side of the ferrule; if it leaked from the hose side, I'm not sure how well the epoxy would have worked.

OEM Subaru replacement hose was outrageous; there was an aftermarket hose for about $25, but they only periodically made this hose, and it was months before they were scheduled for a run. Forum surveys suggested this epoxy would work, so we gave it a try. Here's what has worked, for me.

Remove hose from the (empty of refrigerant) system, and tape off the open fittings on the vehicle to reduce exposure to humidity, and prevent dirt intrusion. Clean the hose inside and out with 90% rubbing alcohol, to wash out as...
