MARVOWARE Hitch-Mounted Foldable 2-Bike Platform Style Bicycle Carrier Rack

Troy Anthony: So this will need to be a 2 part review. I just received the carrier today. I plan to use it on a Ford Maverick that I'm picking up from the dealer in 2 days. This carrier was one of those attempts to find a diamond in the rough. It is a brand I didn't recognize. Only 1 single review when I bought it. The price was appealing and it has features that check some boxes for me.

Delivery - typical outstandingly fast delivery. Love Amazon!

Packaging - No damage. Well packed.

Instructions - Minimalist but not hard to figure out. Note that this is marked as model # "AF1223" on the front of the instructions. However, when I googled that model number, it didn't really find anything that seemed to match up. Just letting you know what's actually marked on the documentation.

Tools - None included. Pull out your own toolbox.

Parts - Everything was there, plus a baggie marked as extra parts.

Assembly - So far I just hand tightened everything. No tools were included so I'll need to pull out a wrench / socket to tighten everything.

Meet my expectations? Yes, absolutely (so far). I haven't used it and I'll update my review when I do. That said, it...

chris: Purchased this to transport our 2 new e-bikes (Aventon aventure 2’s) on a 1000 mile road trip. These bikes are very heavy (77lbs each), so I was very skeptical after reading some of the reviews. We transported without the batteries so that shed 10-15 lbs each.
The assembly was very easy, instructions seemed to be fine. As long as you have basic mechanical skills and tools it shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes to assemble. It is large an awkward so a second set of hands is a plus. The bolts that connect the brackets that hold the 2 square tubes together needs to be very tight to prevent them from being able to slide…to the point where you start to bend the brackets. With that being said I did not trust the Chinese bolts that came in the kit so I purchased higher quality bolts elsewhere. I also used lock-tight to prevent them from loosening. The Allignment stickers that come on the bike rack are close but wait until you put your bikes on it to make final adjustment and then tighten the s#!t out of the bolts.
Just for extra peace of mind since our trip was so long I installed large zip ties in addition to to straps provided to make sure they couldn’t fall off on the...

HdwekaHdweka: Good but not great. For the price it was acceptable. Finding a receiver bike rack rated for heavy electric bikes and capable of holding one with fat tires and one with regular tires for a reasonable price is not easy. I figured I would give this one a shot as it looked like it would work on paper. It did work but not as easily as it may look. First, the instructions are correct in the assembly if you look at those diagrams. If you look at the pictures on Amazon, you will see some with the wheel holder installed backwards (taller end out). Maybe for a really short wheel based bike that would work. I put this together based on how it looked in the pictures and how I thought it should to get the locking bar to work right but neither bike would fit. With the front wheel in the holder, the back wheel was off the end of the bar. Needing to leave for vacation the next day and after a moment of panic, I went back to the computer and looked at the pictures. It was then I realized some were correct and some not correct. The tall end of the wheel cradle goes to the inside and once you do that the bikes fit fine. Now to fastening them down. Well again it looked good on paper. The locking bar...
