SamSam: It’s a nice thick bpa free 2 liter bottle with a filter to add your loose tea or bag tea in the filter part. The consistency of the taste is delicious and does not have an after taste. The tea has a very balanced aromatic taste which I definitely do not regret buying. I normally put the tea bags on water bottles or other plastic ones but THIS one holds in the freshness and does not have a stale taste to it. Buy it I highly recommend it.

Dearheart: The product works even better than I thought it would. I use loose leaf teas and the mesh does a great job keeping everything in. The top seals firmly and I trust it not to spill when I turn the pitcher on its side in the fridge.

Taking it apart to clean is super easy. All the pieces are good quality (no cheapo plastic seals) so I'm not worried about them deteriorating anytime soon. The one struggle I did have initially was putting it together after cleaning. Everything screws effortlessly back together except this middle removable piece between the filter and the lid. After a few times I figured out the trick is applying a stronger pressure while screwing it onto the filter. After I figured that out I had no more issues. Would recommend for anyone who frequently drinks iced tea.

C Dursun: I bought this iced tea maker in August, 2016 and, since then, it has not had one idle day in my house. I have used this every day since receiving it. I have not had a leak, a drip, or any problem with it at all. I normally make iced tea with loose leaf tea, but you can also use this to make cold brew tea. I've made cold brew with normal tea bag tea from Stash and I've made cold brew tea with cold brew tea bags from Adagio. Both hot brewed and cold brewed work great in the Takeya.

For hot brewed, loose leaf tea I pour in hot water leaving about a 3-inch gap at the top. Once the tea is brewed, I fill the rest of the maker with ice cubes, close it up, and shake away. Then it goes into the refrigerator. For cold brewed, bagged tea, I just fill the Takeya with water to the top and leave it in the refrigerator over night. Take out the bags in the morning and it's ready to go--no need to add ice.

I think this is, by far, the best and most useful thing I have bought from Amazon and I really recommend it to anyone who loves iced tea.

Nicole Preece: Quality - clear container feels solid, the top and handle have some flexibility, but not enough to be concerning. The interior strainer is a fine mesh which is sturdy.

Ease of Use - the strainer attaches to the removeable center of the lid. This makes it fairly unstable when filling with tea. A cup "holder" comes with the product, but it is of no real use as the cup does not firmly secure the strainer. Though the strainer is very fine, some small particles of loose leaf tea did manage to make it into the container. The strainer extends deep into the container allowing you to brew a small amount, however given the size of the overall container I'm not sure when you would actually want to do that. (Why not brew it in a cup or tumbler. A wider shorter strainer would also be better for cleaning (see below).

Cleaning - The strainer is long and narrow making it difficult to clean the bottom if you have large hands. the fine strainer catches on bottle brushes and the tapering makes it difficult to get into the corners. Rinsing it out is simple, but if more aggressive cleaning is needed, it will be difficult.

Overall- Works as intended and is of expected quality for...

MDD: I often wonder if people buy the same product because the reality of a product is so different from the written reviews.

The negative reviews of this thing leaking are correct.

The instruction manual warn people against overturning the lid which is fine.
The main issue is that the carafe is oblong and if you only tighten to the point of where the spout aligns with the "point" of the oblong shape, you will lead liquid everywhere.

A better solution would have been a round carafe.

As for the rest of the product, it is fine. It works as advertised.

David Wang: The threads on every single piece make it difficult to screw the components together. Functionally, the pitcher is fine (feels a little flimsy) once you get everything put together. I would go for something more sturdy, with better engineering.

Alex: This Takeya tea maker was a really great purchase, and although I've had it less than a month, it's probably now the single most used item in the kitchen. I'm always down for some good iced tea, but time after time, the infusers I've used have always been either too fine to allow the flavors and tiny particles of tea to release into the water or too large and ended up letting bits of leaves out. This pitcher has the *perfect* mesh infuser that balances the two issues out!

I really especially like that you screw the infuser into the top of the pitcher so it stays totally shut off from the main pitcher, meaning no leaves or bits of fruit ever leak out. It's also cool that you can seal the pitcher shut by twisting it, keeping the tea fresher and preventing the fridge from smelling funky.

The one thing I don't really care for/understand is the little infuser stand that came with it. Is it, like, to hold the infuser up when you're pouring loose tea into it? Or to keep it fro getting tea everywhere when you remove it? I don't really know, and the instructions didn't really mention it, but it's not a big deal at all. I'm pretty sure that once I figure out how it's supposed...
