SeeAutoRun: I bought this for a trip to Kauai. I was using 15 lb test and fishing from the shore. I got hooked on the bottom and figured I pull to either break the like or have it come free. The pole broke in half. No joke - pretty embarrassing. I’d ask for recompense, but I don’t think China doesn’t play that way. Don’t buy it.

The Timahawk: I was always skeptical about telescopic fishing poles . Someone gave me one back in the 80s and it was a real piece of junk . I was looking at surf rods and came across this rod. At first I kind of chuckled , thinking of the one I used to have. But just for the hell of it I decided to buy this one . I did not get the whole package . Just the rod . It is just short of 11 ft when extended and about 20 inches when closed. Anyway , it turns out to be one of the best rods I own !! I have caught large Stripers , Catfish and Speckled Trout casting from shore on the Chesapeake Bay and this rod has handled them all with ease . It is super lightweight and very well built . Honestly , I had my doubts when I ordered this but I am shocked at the quality and performance of this rod. I bought a second one for my wife and she absolutely loves it too !! I matched them both up with Okuma reels with 12lb Spiderwire. Hard to believe how light this set up is . All I can say is that if you like to surf fish , get yourself one of these rods and see for yourself. One more thing . I take care of my fishing gear and rinse the saltwater off my stuff when I get home . I am also careful when closing up the...

Carol Hemme: it was reall small in diameter . may have been my fault but i put in a search for rods for trolling for strippers and larger fish and this thing was tiny so i sent it back.
