JC: I spent hours researching online for a substitute for Magna-tiles because they are so expensive. I purchased magformers at Costco but I did not like that the magformers weren't solid ( harder for my toddler to build with), so I returned those.
The magnets of this set is very impressive. It is so strong and the pieces feel expensive and heavy. My toddler does not have a hard time building three dimensional shapes with this.
A lot of other magnet products online also have a lot of useless parts (letter inserts, window inserts without magnets, etc.), so even if they say that it is 100 pieces, if 30 of those pieces are not very useful, then it is actually only a 30-piece set. In contrast, all the pieces in this set are all useful.
