Maria Scharbaai.: It is a fine experience. Refreshing to visit Portugal and learn a bit of the language and customs. A heartbreaking novel that after some misunderstanding finally ends well.

pearloglesby: It was a lovely surprise to find it was set in Lisbon, a place I have visited three times and therefore recognised and could follow the story as though I were in the places mentioned. I remember the rumble on the bridge and the beautiful statue of Christ the redeamer, the planes going into the airport and the cruise liners on the river. The story kept me interested and intrigued.

Seasmoke: I gave this four stars because of the many descriptions of the streets and houses in Portugal. The story was a good one, and the characters interesting but most of the writing concentrated in the setting not the personalities is emotions if the characters. Still, it was a good read

Mandy Hobson: I couldn't put this down! I wanted to write a review after the first chapter! It is everything I hope for in this genre book. Very well written, impeccable grammar, descriptive enough without being over the top in both vision and emotion. Truly captivating. The only one negative, which is only my own personal preference, is there was no sexual content written in apart from kissing. In some ways this was very refreshing/a change for me as I do skip over those that drag on if too 'romantic'. The way this book is written I didn't even really miss it. I could go on raving ... but that would delay me moving on to the next Lucy Coleman book in my library!!!!!

Alaska Customer: Why, with a photogenic location, a believable storyline, and a talented, savvy, and creative female character who declares from the start that she's not going to accede to any man who tries to run her life, would an author leave all that hanging at the end just to wrap up a romance? What will Seren tell her family, her employers? How will she accomplish her plan to create a studio where we can create her sculptures? I wanted her life to be more than just a man and a lovely seafront property, and I was disappointed that Lucy Coleman did not give her that.

Amazon Customer: Like many books, you see the characters making poor decisions. Their thought process is shown but it is still hard to accept and even like the characters. Also a little slow moving. I appreciate the descriptors to help us visualize Portugal, but it is a bit much at times and led me to skim sections. I enjoy the escape the author is providing but something felt missing in the story.

Catherine: I really liked the descriptive ways Lucy talks about all the varied and beautiful settings in this tale. I could just see it all! Living in my winter city in Alberta, Canada, I am so jealous! I want to go to Lisbon and see it for myself. The characters were very real, I especially admired Seren (lovely name) - her courage and grit exemplary.
I couldn't wait to see the gorgeous pepper-white sports car get delivered. Then it didn't happen. We didn't get to see that! Such a disappointment! I would have liked also to see Beatrix's chagrin. The ending too, was a bit abrupt.
But it was a really excellent story. The kind you just can't put down. Thank you Lucy.

J Lynn B: I liked the story, but felt it ended too abruptly/
seemingly unfinished. I realize this is a
subjective thing, but I doubt I'll bother to
read another by the author, for fear it, too,
will hum along, then abruptly end.

Kindle Customer LL: I felt like I was recreating a former trip to Lisbon by reading this book.Places like Time Out and the bakery with the Belem pastries make me want to get on a plane and go there right now. Believe that I am marking other spots to see as Severn yours the city. I enjoyed meeting these characters which the author fleshs out beautifully.

Jenny May: I really enjoyed reading this, I have never been to Portugal before but the book came to life in my hands, Lisbon sounds wonderful. The characters were well written and interesting.
My only disappointment was the ending, it has left me feeling that the story is unfinished and puzzled.
