Bill wofford: I've been listening to Kenny rogers my entire life I was raised on country music I'm more of a rocker these days but I knew his music but very little about him and this book cover everything you would wanna know his upbringing his friendship with dolly Parton and other people you wouldn't think he would have much in common with and what he did when his singing career started to fade out a bit and some funny stories from along the way it's a awesome book if loved it

Wow, this invitation to such a personal look into your life was so warm and friendly. I feel like I was in a series of places in your life and you with a cold lemonade in your hand were telling me your tales enjoying them with people important to you. They are nodding at some.points and laughing at others. We can hear the smile in your voice and see the love in your eyes when you speak of family and friends and their impact on each of your life events. Thank you to your family, Kenny, for sharing you with me through these pages. You flew up to heaven during the time I read this book. I have spent much windshield time (as my radio is broken in my car) listening to youtube videos of your many songs and interviews. I like this so much better that I am not fixing the radio. Mary Weimer: I have loved Kenny from the first time I heard him on the radio! I have been to many of his concerts, in New Jersey and mostly in Florida. I met a person when I started to work at Belks department store who loved him as much as I did. Together we traveled to as many of his concerts as we could without leaving Florida!

I even took my hubby and my granddaughter, Aryana who was in a stroller to Plant City to see him!

I enjoyed reading all about his career and his five marriages! I thought Lou and I had a marriage made in heaven and that our age difference was too large, but Wanda and Kenny had us beat! They were twenty eIght years apart, Lou and I were only thirteen years apart and we have a beautiful daughter, Cathryn who was the light of Louis’ life! Just as Kenny’s two sons were of his life!

The book was great and I liked hearing about all the great songs and who wrote them!

Nancy Fitzgerald: I really enjoyed this book. It was very easy to read. Being a Kenny Rogers fan for years, it was interesting to learn about his life and to see things from his point of view on issues that were reported in magazines about him, some good and others not so good about him.

Deb: Kenny Rogers music has been part of my life since I was a little girl...My mom was an avid fan, and before I could understand what he was singing about, so was I. Once as a teen I stood in line for over 14 hours to get tickets for us here in our little part of the world, and that concert was something I will never forget. I have every album, and even the Christmas CD's. I'm listening to him now. I include this preface so the readers know I'm a HUGE Fan of Kenny Rogers, but only a moderate fan of this book. I saw it on Amazon and instinctively purchased it. I thought perhaps it would be written in a way that embraced his talk show communication style...was excited to read it, but I'm disappointed. It does have many entertaining paragraphs, and there are some poignant selections, but ultimately, it's a lot of filler, and not much substance for people like me, who want to REALLY understand what this remarkable life was like. There were pages and pages of repetitious details that seemed to have been dropped in as a second thought, and were hard read, to the point that I began skimming, and I skimmed A LOT. The book jumps around from era to era at an almost frantic pace sometimes,...
