I only had the need for this one use, so I checked after capping as instructed it and the rest of the glue had leaked and hardened. Oh well, guess I’ll choose my projects more appropriately.

carolyn: My husband dropped the lid into the tank and it made some long, fine cracks that were draining pretty quickly. This product works 100%. It took two tries for us to cover all the cracks, one was virtually invisible running up the side, but once we figured out where they all were there is no more leaking.

R. SeeligR. Seelig: I bought four products to test for repairing a 2" crack in my acrylic shower base. I tested them on a scrap piece of plexiglass which is acrylic. In the tests this product stood out with its smooth glossy texture, color, low (nearly non-existent odor), and adhesion. It also seems to have a bit of flexibility, which I think is a benefit. Other products fell short on texture, rigidity, or dangerous odors that were detectable even with a respirator.

I used painters tape to define and limit the spread of the epoxy. The picture shows the repair just after applying the marine epoxy--practically invisible. After about 18 hours I sanded gently with 400 and 600 grit wet sandpaper, leaving the final repair a bit proud to assure water-tightness. I only gave it 4 stars for durability because I don't know how it will fare long term. I did stabilize the shower base which had been poorly installed, and flexing over time resulted in the crack; I am optimistic that the apparent flexibility in the epoxy will make the repair a long term fix.

Takomsa: Overall, I love using this product. I've fixed more items than I can remember.

That said, it's not the perfect fix because it WILL be visible. It's not superglue. You need to have this material all around the break. Think of it as a cast for a broken limb. It will allow the limb to be used, but if you want a strong hold, it's going to be obvious. It dries very shiny.

As it's going on like a cast, it will be a big white shiny blob. The only exception is when the epoxy is inside of a part. In this case it will hold VERY well. When it’s visible, I've tried coloring it with sharpies, but the color will wear off and you'll be back to white. I've also tried mixing enamel color into the wet epoxy, but it didn't give me the color I wanted, so I didn't use it.

I've used this on my truck's engine when the plastic retainer for the throttle was broken by the mechanic (and he didn't take responsibility for breaking it). As the throttle linkage is immediately above the engine, it has held up to the engine heat for 5 years now.

I've also found you can sand this epoxy. It finishes quite nicely with wet emery cloth.
