bookworm: Like no bubbles! No mess. Makes little popping noise when walks. Like the clicking knobs. Noise good for him and not overwhelming for adults. My 2y/o friend takes it inside and out and loves it! His parents love it more because he can walk in circles and be happier pushing it around.

_that_dude_J: I got this for a nephew. He's new to two and was on the cusp of walking. Since he's got an older brother which is 3, he's not quick to get up and move. He'll watch his brother going up, down and all around but wait till the coast is clear before trying to scoot.

From the moment this toy was put together, my nephew was playing with the controls. Good thing he has an older brother to show him the ropes. The older one was yanking the cord while the younger one was turning the knobs. There was some small squabbling over who would get to run the mower first. The older one ran it all around the home for awhile before he was told to share it. Having this to push gave the birthday boy some confidence in walking. It was great to see the excitement he had in stabilizing himself while thinking, he's cleaning up the ground for us. This is almost always run on a wood floor.
Since I gave this gift in the early fall, the kids were used to seeing the lawn care guy mowing their lawn. Every time they would see him, this toy would go zooming all around. Both the boys love it.

LifeIsGood: Wheels are hard plastic 4 inches in diameter. The top of the handle is 20 1/4 inches from the floor. So if you want to know if it's a good size for your child, have him hold his hands in front of him 20 inches above the ground and you will know. Made in China. We purchased the one in "frustration-free" packaging and we were happy with that. We just opened a brown box, and removed the items. No clear plastic shells or plastic straps to cut through, and no wires to untwist. It comes in a plain brown box that says Little Tikes in the corner on one side and Gas 'n Go Mower in the corner of the other side of the box, along with some contact information for Little Tikes. So if your child sees it arrive, he will have no idea what's inside unless he can read. It was very simple to put together - pop a few things into place, no tools required.
The mower has several fun features for child: Up on the handle there is a plastic key that really turns but, fortunately, does not come off. So it won't get lost. There is a little handle that goes up and down (throttle?). It has a pull cord like a real lawn mower that makes a revving noise when you pull it, like the mower is really starting up....
