Tyler & Tiffany Chacon: I enjoyed reading this so much. Definitely a slowwwwww burn romance. Beautiful descriptions and such a lovely story. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

Gail Thompson: This story of Horse Racing is a bit corny but it did keep my attention. There is interesting fairly accurate information about the sport and a love story to boot!

Judi Evans: This is a great series! I am an older horsewoman who knows hunter jumpers but not too much about racing. Linda Shantz knows her stuff. This series is not only satisfying to my soul as I revisit my equine experiences through these well-written details, but it satisfies my curiosity about the ins and outs of racing. It's easy to pick up quietly informative nuggets without feeling lectured to. I liked how long and deeply involved the books are, allowing me to spend enough time with the characters - horses and humans - and still wanting more at the end. The books focus on individual yet related characters with a continuous storyline, all on different aspects of racing (like jockeys, trainers, and aftercare). They have a nice mixture of suspenseful racing and romance without being graphic - great for all ages. The author's artistic ability is an extra treat that captures a beautiful cover portrait of the story's prominent horse. If you haven't read the series, you are lucky because several books await you.

Katy: EDIT; I reread this book after first reading the prequel, "Bright Broken Things" and highly recommend you do the same. The prequel filled in a lot of blanks in the back story that left me feeling "in the dark" the first time I read "Good Things Come". Also, I was pretty sick the first time I read it, so take my review back then with a grain or two of skepticism. Would I recommend this book to a horse loving, racing fan? Heck, yes; in fact I already have.

I really really wanted to love this book but found it a bit of a slog to get through. The writer certainly knows her horses and knows the world of horse racing well. The two main characters are likable and relatable, and I was rooting for them through the whole story and found a satisfying ending to their relationship.

However, here's what I found difficult. There is a lot of dialogue in the book, and it's sometimes hard to tell who is saying what on first reading. Numerous times I had to reread lines to sort that out. A few more "he saids or she saids" might have helped that. Secondly, it's hinted at early on that both Liv and Nate have something dark in their pasts that have affected them in profound ways. I think...

Michelle LopezMichelle Lopez: I’m not a horse girl. (Buuut, I have to admit that I did enjoy horse stories and movies as a young girl). Either way, I am a story girl. If there’s a good story, I am there. And this story is a must read. Good Things Come is a book that takes you on a horse racing journey with believable, well-developed characters.

I could relate to Liv even though there were times I wanted to shake her. I liked Nate (most of the time, haha). I, also, liked Faye, a lot, and I’m so glad there’s a side story with her as the protagonist.

I am thrilled to find out what is next for Liv and have high expectations on her in the sequel. I enjoy the no nonsense female characters that lead their path, even if sometimes things might get a bit muddy. My favorite line from her: "It's so cliché. Smart horse girl has to go to vet school, right? Don't get me wrong, I'm a total science geek. I love it. I just love this more."

The level of detail the author entails in the story without overwhelming the reader is done rather well in this book. Details are executed full circle.

Horse girl or not... horse person or not… this story will leave you wanting for more.

Annieo: I really enjoyed this well-written book. It describes all the behind-the-scenes, work, troubles and humour that goes on in race track barns. Linda does a great job in describing the characters and horses. I think every reader falls in love with the difficult mare, Chique, and all her shenanigans, and then there's easy-going Claire. Nate, Liv and dear Geai, are likable characters and you easily connect with them. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Sheona HG: The meat of this book is beautifully and accurately focused on the world of horse racing. The plot takes you deep behind the scenes into the lives of believable, sympathetic characters, beautiful equines and the very real ups and downs of life in the fast competitive lane of thoroughbred racing.
I picked up this book, read it in two sittings, completely dragged into a story that had me enjoying the company of intelligent characters but also soaking in a well written story.
Really looking forward to the sequel!

Cheryl: The best part about this novel is that the details are accurate! So many 'horse' related novels or movies have unbelievable errors when it comes to the facts surrounding the story. In my experience, the author will lose me right there.. and although sometimes I can overlook the errors due to an engaging storyline, many times I just ditch the rest of the book and move on. NOT SO with 'Good Things Come' Linda Shantz is not only a wonderful story teller, she is an experienced horsewoman with years of racing background. Everyone will enjoy this book. Waiting for a sequel!

Lu: This book has a little bit of everything you need for a great afternoon sitting in your favourite chair with the drink of your choice; authentic horse racing details, great characters that come to life as you read more, a hint of romance and of course the occasional laugh out loud moment. It should be on everyone’s Christmas list (not just your horsey friends either) as it would make a fabulous gift! I can’t wait for the sequel.
