They fit easily in my backpack and are light weight on the neck strap. I hunted one trip with them before the season ended but I guarantee I will be wearing them again this winter

AverageUser: These aren't high end optics like Nikon, Zeiss, etc., but they are excellent for the price. I carried them on recent trip to the mountains. Compact enough to be attached to my belt or web gear. They were clear enough for me to detect a person from almost a mile away, who was blended in with the trees and brushes while approaching a deer, that bunch of us didn't realize his presence until I scanned the area with my pair. They seem to be well made, proof of almost everything, light enough that for hiking and extended viewings. I compared several brands. Too bad, most well known brands are all made in China. I was willing to pay more for a good pair, but I decided on these.

daniel anzai: these are really nice binos. the picture is clear from edge to edge, fast and accurate focus, they feel great in hand with a shape and texture that makes it super easy to hold for long periods without getting tired hands, the screw out eye cups are perfect with or without glasses on, the picture is clear in daylight and even at night. waterproof as well. spend the few extra bucks and get these instead of the cheapo field glasses you were just looking at.... they are worth the extra bucks. these blow my nikon 8x40's away... seriously. I use them at sporting events in dusty venues and they are great. now i know why the Leupold products are so well regarded by enthusiasts... they make a product that will exceed your expectations.

C. Kane: Bought these based on Leupold reputation and that many feel 8x42 is ideal for finding and seeing wildlife. I've never had a Leupold product before but was impressed by some of their other products. These are light weight and have impressive clarity. I really like the rugged feel and how the lenses are set back a bit and appear better protected than other binoculars but theses are larger than identically powered competitor binoculars. Some of the reviews mention trouble adjusting the focus -I am not experiencing this. My only complaint is that the strap was a bit hard to attach. I will update after returning from Yellow Stone!

Back from Yellow Stone. They worked beautifully. They were easy to use, images were crisp and bright and they held up in the rain. Only complaint was that at some of the longer ranges, the eight power magnification was not quite enough. No fault of the binoculars but if going to Yellow Stone, an 8x25 may not be quite enough.

Jean Louise Doe: I bought these binoculars for a trip to Scotland. I wanted a compact pair and a reasonable price. I knew Leupold made good hunting scopes so I was hoping their binoculars were just as good. I must say, I'm very pleased with these. These are lightweight, compact and waterproof. I forgot and left them outside one night. the next morning they were fogged over with dew. I wiped them off with a towel and once they warmed up, they were totally clear. The image is very sharp, the eye cups twist up and down (great for people with glasses) and they work will for people with smaller features. I do not have anything bad to say.
