TSR: Even though Amazon shows the 500th Anniversary sticker on the product page, when you receive the book, there is no such sticker, so you are not sure if you're getting a 500th Anni copy or a prior copy. The same applies to the larger edition of this book which is the more sprawling version of this. I prefer this version as it is something you can carry with you and the other version is a coffee table version and is mammoth. One star deducted for misleading the cover print which promotes this as the 500th Anniversary edition

Y. ReedY. Reed: This book could have been awesome. With drawings of this historical importance put in such a small formate there seems no justification. If it were in say an 8 x 10 format where you could actually see the detail of these beautiful drawings, then this would be in a class with the other Taschen books which I so greatly appreciate.

Bear Creek: The book size is slightly bigger than the size of a paper back but it is thick. Almost a drawing on every page.
The contents of Da Vinci sketches is amazing. I use a magnifying glass to study them. It is wonderful to see how the master sketches with such precision. It takes time to appreciate the sketches. Specially his studies on horses. It is a beautiful book. Must have for one want to spend time to study his masterly skill. It is invaluable in my book shelf and for drawing reference.
