GuitarBasement: Good quality. I used a hand drill and you do need that extension handle to keep it steady. I cut through 2 inches plus hardwood. You can attack it from both sides once the drill is through. After you pull out the core the well designed slots make it easy to remove it with a screwdriver.

Vinicio Di Pezza: THE NEGATIVE: The OD of this drill is 1-1/32nd and I know that for most folks a 32nd difference make no difference, in my case it did.
This drill went through 1/2" 6061 aluminum, no questions asked, use WD40 or Tap Magic. Clean cut and clean exit, the "plug" came out of the drill very easily just by tapping it with a screwdriver from the inside..
