Thinking SolarThinking Solar: This hole punch tool is excellent for adding holes in belts. Tried it in multiple belts of varying materials and it performed really well. The included awl is a nice touch, works well for marking where you want to make your hole a well as cleaning out punch tool. Would recommend this product. Also appears to be built to last, comes with a ruler and extra backing plates and a small screwdriver.

W.: This is my first time buying a leather hole puncher and after seeing sales associates using similar leather hole punchers in stores I figured it wouldn't be any different if I used it myself, and that I could also save some time and money if I didn't have to go to the store or to a cobbler. Before finally settling with this hole puncher I was looking at a few other punchers but felt that Skilled Crafter's leather hole puncher looked more promising than the others. The only downside is that the puncher was a tad pricey and it would be nice if it was cheaper, however, the puncher itself does feel heavy duty and sturdy.

I was really nervous about using a leather puncher for my first time because my goal was to add a hole on the strap of my new Gucci bag. The strap was too long for my petite frame and I needed to add a hole to make the shoulder drop shorter. I practiced on three old belts that I had from a long time ago before trying it on my Gucci strap. The first few punches on my old belts didn't come out as clean and I wondered if it was because the material were faux leather or that the belts were just really dated - they were soft and a bit mushy. Dr. O'Neill: Excellent quality punch. I use these a lot for my bag making and have gone through many different, inferior punches and this is the best I've had to date. I usually find that the handles bend a little with every use resulting in very little punching power, rendering them useless.
This punch however feels very sturdy and punches cleanly and effortlessly every time.
My only dislike about any/all punches is that the neck is always to small. There's never enough space to allow the user to make a hole further into the fabric. They are all fine for narrow projects like belts and straps and so on but, if I'm almost at the end of a bag project and would like to add a rivet further away from the edge of the fabric, I generally have to maul the bag with an awl as the punch cannot reach.

Ale: Shipping was fast, arrived sooner than expected. The packaging was secure. The leather hole puncher is great. Easy to use. Doesn't require much strength to punch a clean, even hole. The package also came with a tool that can be used to dig out any remaining material to make the hole more precise. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the puncher can only make CIRCULAR holes. **The description actually says ROUND HOLES but I clearly didn't read that part lol** If the holes in your belt are anything other than a perfect circle, this tool may not be what you're looking for. My husband's belt is made with oval-shaped holes. I was able to successfully punch a few more circular holes in the belt so it would fit his waist. The new holes don't match the shape of the default holes but he doesn't seem to care. The belt now fits his waist perfectly. The new holes are clean and precise, even though they're a different shape from the original holes.

S. Burgess: This leather hole punch is fantastic, and so is the customer service from Skilled Crafter. The first punch I received had been tampered with during transit, I'm assuming by someone in the USPS system. The shipping package had been ripped opened, as was the box that the pliers come in, so the punch and accessories were all over the place. When I tried to punch a couple of holes in deer hide and a belt, I was completely disappointing. Out of several attempts, I only got one nice, clean hole.

I contacted Skilled Crafter and I swear to high heaven, I've never received such quick and great attention, and courtesy! Within a few hours they had sent a replacement punch, and I had it by the next day! And guess what, it works just as described in their listing! I've punched holes I didn't even need, just because I could. I took one belt and punched a new hole between every existing hole, and it not only added a bit of a design element, but it allows me to actually buckle it where I need it instead of having to wear it too tight (or too loose, which totally defeats the purpose of a belt, right?)

I've used it on lightweight deer hide as well as the leather belt that was 2.25mm...
