Learn Spanish the No-Nonsense Way: A Comprehensive Workbook with Grammar Lessons and Fun Activities

James E. Simino: I love the workbook, for students in our HS Spanish class, and also when we did homeschool, as well as to practice Spanish myself. It has so many pages of simply explained, yet difficult work. The problem with our official Spanish textbook workbook pages (in schools) is that they are overtly complicated questions, where your mind is left wondering more often how the questions are supposed to be answered rather than actually practicing Spanish. This workbook has more straightforward instructions, and you will do the same exercise for one entire page, instead of switching back and forth between multiple activities on one page.
Great price for this workbook!! Would buy again and recommend to friends !

L. Fernandez: A lot thicker than expected. Very comprehensive. I bought it as a present for a friend. I did spot a few spelling mistakes, but seemed really good overall.

Nashyra: There's some really good tips and tricks, I love the chapter by chapter "create your own vocabulary " but I think I misunderstood what it's purpose really is. A lot of the lessons in this book require to do your own footwork: find manuals in spanish, look words up, take grammar lessons outside of the book. So it wasn't quite the teaching textbook I was looking for. But if you are a self starter and like to challenge yourself, this is a great book.

ML: I got this book for my husband because he's learning Spanish. He started off with apps and other reference materials but since I'm a native Spanish speaker he has mostly learned through conversation with me and my family. He's really good at it, but there were many concepts that still escaped him that I had a difficult time explaining so I thought to get him a book we could work on together.

I really liked No Nonsense Spanish because it's for someone like him who wants to learn a language to actually use it. It explains the aspects of the language that might not be too obvious when you are a non-native speaker learning through conversation but that really make a difference when you talk to native speakers. My husband is getting better at understanding the reasons behind concepts that seemed incomprehensible before and I've been able to have a structured way to show him the nuances of the language. As a result he feels more confident when talking to me and I have an easier time understanding him, which makes him so happy!

One more thing that I really liked about this book is that it encourages students to create their own glossaries. I think this is REALLY important...
