Key Features:

Acupressure is a holistic healing technique that utilizes finger pressure and massage on specific areas of the body. It is a powerful form of alternative medicine that can be used to treat a variety of common ailments, such as headaches, stress, neck pain, and insomnia. Acupressure works by stimulating the body's natural self-healing abilities, improving circulation, and relieving tension. By applying pressure to certain points on the body, acupressure can help to reduce pain, improve sleep, and promote overall wellbeing.

Nancy Nelms: Haven't really had a chance to read, but it is certainly comprehensive. Good illustrations help with location of pressure points.

Stephanie SailerStephanie Sailer: My husband and I began using phototherapy (light therapy) patches in May 2023. The phototherapy patches are recognized by the FDA as a general wellness product; all they do is reflect your infrared light back into you so your own body can create peptides, or in the case of pain, move energy which is stuck and presenting as pain. We were seeing great results and I became curious in acupressure and acupuncture because I understood the infrared light stimulating the skin could potentially provide greater results in combination with placing the patches on specific meridians. I purchased this book and another by this Deborah Bleecher. Both books are GREAT and my husband and I saw our results improve by understanding patch placement. What I like about this book is the photographs and it is organized by certain health problems. I also like that the author includes information from Chinese medicine, herbs, and other tools, such as massage. This book has a section specific to babies, as well. I recommend both of this author's books.

M. Ingham: A book on acupressure which does NOT even mention PRESSURE ! I spent £8.99 and this book which does not even suggest how hard, soft or in-between I should apply the pressure. Or maybe it doesn't matter ? The book gives no clue. I know all about the author though, she tells us of her experience and credentials. But she provides photos to locate the acupressure points. Photos with little dots to mark the spot/area where, some, unknown amount of pressure should be applied. Guess what, one person I would like to help with acupressure has fat arms, another has thin legs. The photos of standard size limbs are just not very helpful. Especially when acupuncture and acupressure point charts traditionally use the skeleton and anatomical landmarks, that we can get used to using, to locate these points, this author thinks the pics are more useful. They're absolutely not. Maybe the author has great experience in acupressure, but her attempt to share that for practical use is a failure. I would absolutely not attempt to use this book as a guide to learning the techniques of acupressure.

Amy: Lots of pictures but they’re practically thumbnails with no real detail. The author makes a point to state the illustrated models are in swimsuits for modesty. I wonder how someone so concerned with social insecurities can possibly provide thorough content for body work while straight up rejecting the largest wounded portion of most bodies.
Ok for some, not for all. If you’re serious about the body, spend the money on an unbiased text book.

Peter Lageard: Excellent guidance for self treatment

george: I was hoping this would be a "go-to" guide, like an acupressure for dummies, but it's nearer to being a detailed textbook (266 pages; nice 7"x10"; nice, clear, photos & illustrations; easy to read, not cramped). If you have a baby in the house, there are 31 pages dedicated to babies; and if you need the long answer: this is your tome. I found what I needed in the 10 page section: "Top 10 Acupressure Points"; I'm going to copy these pages then give the book to my cousin who just had twins.

Lynn: This excellent book should be in every home as the go to for health answers . Before the days of big pharma this sort of thing was common knowledge at helping the body to do what it is designed to do which is to heal itself . Mainstream medicines have spent hundreds of years and trillions of dollars trying to demonize this and other natural ways of healing as they cannot make money for themselves out of it . I bought it as I had been using accupressure for many years having read up on it years ago but wanted a more concise edition as my 'go to' . This is ideal .

Kindle Customer: I really liked this author's "Acupuncture Points" book, which is really about acupressure (you use the same points for both). In that first book, you get a lot more points explained with much better pictures. I was surprised at the lack of instruction for finding some locations in the second book. To me it was vague to the point of being useless so I use the first book. If you're new to this subject as I was, or if you want an very affordable, concise guide to all the points you'll likely ever want, get her first book. I get the feeling she tried to simplify things too much in the second offering, which was a nice thought but you really can't be vague about your point locations or it doesn't work.

Be aware that you can find a lot of images online for each point if her image is a bit unclear, but I use hers as my main guide bc she warns that some online pics are wrong. I just check online when I need extra details about how to locate the point, while ensuring the point is shown in the same location she's using.

In the West, we're taught to assume acupressure is malarkey. I'm a Westerner and never considered this bizarre approach to medicine until I became desperate,...

Co&Be: I have 3 or 4 books on acupressure. What I like about this one is that, unlike my other books, it has an index where all conditions are listed. The author doesn't waste her and our time talking about TCM theory. She touches the subject briefly and then goes straight to each condition, how each condition is treated in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She shows the acupressure points that are recommended in each case and uses large diagrams so the reader will know exactly how to locate the point.
The main difference between this book and others I have is that, in my other books, the authors seem more interested in the points and then list ALL the many conditions the points treat. Here the author goes directly to each specific condition and then provides the best points to treat said condition, which is so much easier for us, readers. We, readers, don't need to know how many conditions are treated by each point. We need to know which points treat a specific condition.
I am sure the author, who is an accupuncturist herself, has the knowledge to write a lengthy book on TCM theory, meridians and so on. But she wasn't interested in lecturing us. She obviously wrote this book because...

Ernest Scott: Very clearly written and the the pressure points actually work.I bought the book as a last result when my cupboards were filling up with half used packets of pills prescribed by various Doctors who seemed more keen to get me out of their surgery than solve my problems. I can’t really blame them, I get fed up with old people as well. I am now a convert, acupressure is visibly working after only a few weeks. Thank you Deborah Bleecker.
