If you are looking for konjunktiv I and ii… plusquamperfekt and maybe some dativ drills, forget it. This book is more for people who learn in a roundabout way. I just wanted grammar explanations and drills, and this never even talks about what I needed… I just needed the drills.
It also arrived damaged, which was even more annoying because I could not return it.
I gave it 4. Stars because for people who can learn this way (lucky you!), it seems very good.

Judith M Martin: I've been learning conversational German, so haven't really had the chance to grasp the grammar rules. This book I'd really excellent to give another dimension to my learning and explain things that I hadn't understood. Clear and easy to follow.

Duarte Silva:
This book has been very helpful for learning grammar concepts. However, it seems to me that the content is not well organized.
Some beginning lessons start with complex topics (such as Declension at L5), and some later lessons with easier ones.
The preterit tense is taught before (L11) the present tense (L12), even though they say in the text "This tense [present tense] is always taught first because it is the most important and basic tense". The chapter order seems not to be optimal.
Some examples don't fit with the explanations, the book is all black-white-gray with little concern about the look. Also, some exercises in the first chapters depend on concepts only taught some chapters after.
Bottom line is the book is definitely a valuable resource to get to know and search for grammar rules, however for the beginner might be difficult to get through it without putting it aside. If you know how to deal with these points and just ignore what is misplaced, you will probably get benefit from the book.

MarSalla98: I am German living in the US and I am trying to teach my kids German grammar and writing skills. They are working their way through the exercises and grammar lessons in this book and there are many mistakes in this book, mostly wrong articles or cases. That said the book overall seems to provide a good start into German grammar rules etc., but the publisher should have had this proof read better.

HannahHannah: I really needed something to help me understand my German class I am taking since I all have for the class is an online book. I wasn’t comprehending much, as my college book dove straight into full on German with very little English translations. Its. 101 class so I thought why the heck is this so hard! Well, I found this book and I have got to say I highly recommend getting this book if you’re a college student like me struggling with German! I know some of the other reviews say there are some errors with this book but in my opinion taking both my college book, and this book, has helped me understand things A LOT better!!! Give it consideration, especially if you’re in a situation like me. Also, the audio that goes with the reading has worked amazingly for me. Thanks!

Johans Herrera:
This book is the real deal. I bought for its ease to read it on my tablet and carry it wherever I go and it molding to where it's in rather than creasing a hard cover. Right out the box I knew this book was the best. It's loaded with pages that are loaded with words, and it just excites me knowing I'll be increasing my vocabulary and fluency with the more professional words, and even everyday German words I used to use as a child.
The structure of this books leaves so much room for interpretation you might be best served using this book purely as reference for translating German words into English and vice versa; However, if you are brave I hope you can take the time to tackle this monstrous and wonderful exploration of German book into the human condition.
It just excites me knowing I'll be increasing my vocabulary and fluency with the more professional words, and even everyday German words I used to use as a child. I rate myself at middle-intermediate so personally I find this book best suites my needs. ''
Warm Regards,
Johans
