This seat was mounted as the primary fishing chair on the casting platform. It is comfortable and has been holding up well. It has a reasonably sturdy plastic frame and was bolted to a swivel stand. I would buy this again if I were in need of another boat seat.

The chair is comfortable, the one and only drawback is like all vinyl seats it does not really breath so it gets a little hot and sweaty. Used it for fishing this summer and it is quite nice. 5 star value for the money.

The last seats had hardly any surface to hold people when they lean back and broke. I bought these because of the surface area - they hold up very nice until someone leans back and puts pressure on it. One of the cushions had to be resewn due to poor workmanship. The snaps do not last either but for the money, they work ok.

I bought two of these for a aluminum v-hull I restored. They are very soundly made with a fantastic fold down and simple design. I mounted them to a simple seat post and mount that allows them to swivel. I weigh 180lbs at 5'10" and these supported me perfectly with no concerns on flex or structural failure. I didn't need to reinforce the bottom with plywood or anything. Just used the supplied bolts directly into the plastic mounting holes. If I weighed 200lbs+ I would first anchor a piece of 1/2' plywood to all 8 or so mounting holes and then mount the seat. This would help spread out the stress on the points.
This and the simple vinyl strap that secures them when folded are the only things that bring the comfort down to 4 stars. If you wanted metal on metal bolt contact you could install some helicoils to the bottom.
