Tabatha WinterTabatha Winter: The fireplace doors on my fireplace were original to the house, very 60s style. When I started looking for new fireplace doors, I was looking for something easy enough I could do on my own. I found these doors and I loved the simplicity and the look of them. It is pressure fitted, so I didn’t have to worry about drilling into any of the concrete. I also liked the very easy to follow YouTube video on installation. My only complaint is my fireplace width of the opening is exactly 36in so I got the large size because it said the minimum is 36in. I wasn’t able to use the bottom pressure fittings because holes the brackets were covered. I think the medium size would been a better choice for my 36in opening. Even without the bottom pressure fittings it still feels secure enough so I didn’t worry about replacing it with anything. Overall, I love the look the new doors gave my fireplace, and I’m very happy with the outcome.

Andrea Hare: Easier to install than I expected. Manufacturer installation video was excellent. The larger size fit my fireplace opening and now gives me a much bigger view of the fire than my old one. They suggested putting the door handles on near the beginning but I found it better to install them at the end so the insulation can be applied while the unit is on a flat surface. Otherwise, following the video worked out great. We used the fireplace twice already and highly recommend it.

Konamonster: Pros: looks great. Very sleek
Prefer the dual doors rather than the folding doors.
Magnets on both the screens and doors ensure things stay shut
Install was overall pretty easy but it's a bit fiddly, but that was more than likely due to my fireplace
Cons: only one, the doors will stop 90% of the drafts coming in from the chimney. Absolutely not, 10% maybe. I pulled a draft stopper out of the flu as it was going to be a PITA to take in and out when having fires and put the doors in. The draft is at least 10x worse with the doors on. I now need to buy a cover for the doors to stop the draft.

Jordan: The packing materials used on this item is not sufficient to protect it through transit. The first one I received had a massive dent in the frame and had to be returned. The replacement product has a broken hinge pin on one of the screen doors and the frame is slightly bent on one of the side pieces....

Esthetically, the doors look pretty good when installed, however it takes much messing around adjusting the hinges to get the doors to align properly.... Maybe this wouldn't be the case if you receive one that isn't bent / damaged.

At the end of the day, the product gets the job done, but it is mass produced, low quality, poorly packaged, low attention to detail and not worth the risk unless you are willing to repair / alter the product to get it to fit / function properly.

I would not recommend this product to anyone. Pay a little more and find something better. These are a 3/10 at best.

For $400+ you can find something better than this. I wish I had.... Not worth the headache.

Real NameReal Name: WARNING: This is NOT intended for a raised firebox without a raised hearth.

Nothing in their installation videos or in the instructions says anything about that.

If you have a hearth that is level with the bottom of your firebox and the bottom of the door frame has a place to rest, then this might work. Otherwise, you will have to do what I did (and one other reviewer) and modify it to make it rest securely. Which can be done, but is a major pain after already spending so much time trying to make it work only to find out that it is not designed for my particular fireplace.

The bottom brackets are supposed to provide support tension, but are useless and will require another modification that we will have to figure out another day.

The top brackets didn't work for us either and we had to drill a hole into the lentil - drilling through iron sucks - using their "alternate installation" and then when the dinky 1/2" screw didn't work we just put two of the tapcon screws in. We had the tools and supplies because we have renovated our entire house and are down to the last room, otherwise we might not have had the ability to make it work.

Criticalthinker: I was impressed with the heavy weight of this fireplace cover. Compared to the flimsy options available at home improvement stores, this unit is several steps up in quality. Both sets of doors close squarely and completely flat, leaving a very narrow, vertical gap. Magnets holding them shut are adequate for the task.The glass doors feel reassuringly heavy, and tight on their hinges, but the metal-grate doors are disappointingly tinny and lightweight (the reason I did not give full marks). Finishing on the unit is clean overall. The neutral look is adaptable to either modern or traditional decor. I put mine on a rough, rustic brick fireplace, where it looks lovely.

The glass is very reflective, which bothered me at first, but I have grown used to it. You could probably customize this by removing the glass and taking it to a glass shop to be sandblasted with your own design. Since the glass doors must stay open while a fire is going, it's possible that laminated glass could be substituted, for an opaque look.

You should have a second person help you to install this, if only to help balance the unit while the brackets are installed, lined up tightened. My husband said...

Amazon Customer: Awesome looking and works perfectly.

Some tips for best performance:
- Install as air-tight as possible.
- Keep the glass doors open, when the fire high so that I get all the nice heat in the room.
- Keep them slightly open (just a few inches) when starting up, reviving the fire. This keeps the smoke and the heat inside the fireplace.
- Only fully close the (glass) doors when shutting down the fire, as it severely limits the air intake and stops any heat from escaping in or out the room.
