Zach Marco: Thisi does work well, and a little too well, for smaller media. Has a hard time separating detritus from smaller grains due to SUCKIN POWER. Also due to this, it will empty a tank quickly. Pretty decent for how much you're paying and how simple it is, but having a smaller tube one for finer work is probably necessary.

BB123: The Vacuum works great. However it has a very strong chemical smell of cheap plastic that fills the room wherever it is stored and smells pretty foul when using it

John g: Works fine as long as you are ok w sucking on the end of it to get it started (giggity). No bulb to squeeze like the MUCH more overpriced ones. Does a fair job...for a 10 gallon you get about half done before the water is way too low to continue but that's a fault w 10 gallon tanks...the worst size ever for serious fish keepers. Buy with confidence and get a 20 gallon long if you're going to get a tank at all.

Leo Lovah : A wonderfully simple and easy to use tool for maintaining a healthy aquarium. Use this unit for both a 20 and 8 gallon aquarium. So simple, just place the hose clip on the side of your drain bucket, place the end of the hose into the clip to keep the hose from accidentally falling out of your bucket, place the vacuum tube into your aquarium and start the flow by gently shaking the tube up and down a few times until the flow starts. I pinch the drain hose to adjust the flow rate as I maneuver the vacuum tube around the substrate of my aquariums. The design of this unit also insures you do not accidentally suck up your tank inhabitants since the tube is intended to remove water and detritus from the substrate and not in the open water column. Highly recommended for great aquarium husbandry.

Eric Red Howie: Way better at cleaning my tank than my old one. I was expecting it to have a hand pump to start the suction but this just relies on doing a strange jiggling motion to start the suction. I didn't like it at first but it was able to do such a good job at sucking up large chunks of algae and not getting clogged that I have decided to keep and like it. Not having the hand pump also means one less thing to break (which is what happened to my old siphon). Anyways, if you are okay with having to jiggle it to get the siphon going then, by all means, give this a try, I was not disappointed in it.

Tazzy10: Works perfectly for my 20 Gallon Aquarium , it drains the water quickly for water changes just a few minutes if I'm doing a 50% water change, and it sucks up ton's of waste from the gravel as well. Great price as well.

leppardfan: works great, provided your empty the water into something that is lower than the tank level, if your sink is higher, you'd have to pump pretty much all the water out. I usually just pump it out the window into the garden, once you get a flow, it pretty much drains itself, but pump the bulb to get a good suction on the pebbles to clean them, than let the water flow by itself out. I had to pump it into the sink yesterday due to a winter storm, the flow did not go into the sink, had to keep pumping the bulb, arms are quite tired pumping every drop of water out of the tank. Will pump it into a bucket next time.

C Brownrigg: Excellent water syphon for lager fish tanks comes with a bucket clip too. The syphon is easy to put to get her and use long enough tube for even the tallest of tanks
