Joanne HJoanne H: I was hesitant to purchase this because of some reviews, but I’m glad I did! It was super quick and easy to install. Works like a charm. It fit perfectly, no gaps….as long as you pull it tight. My dog (a rat terrier) could not squeeze under it or between the sides and it came up high enough that she couldn’t jump over (not that she even tried). Ilan on purchasing another for our second vehicle.

Kitchens and Chemistry:
We got this for our Chysler Pacifica van--everyone of these barriers seem designed for SUVs, so we had to make some adjustments to use in van, but it does work.
So, following (as much as possible... directions and numbers of straps are kinda overwhelming and unclear what they all do!) the directions, we installed in our van and it was snug and secure, but left ~1ft gap underneath because vans have lower floors in the middle than SUVs. So, I loosened it and basically re-rigged it myself to loosen the loops that reach to the headrests, combining two of the top straps into one to get some extra length, and tighten the straps to the S-hooks below. It's still secure, just not as many of the straps will reach the headrests this way, so not quite as secure as original install. Now the lower gap is more like 3-4 inches, which should be enough to deter my massive pups.

Amazon Customer: We bought one of the cheaper options initially and regretted it, as fixing were rubbish and didn't really fit. This is much more robust, and while slightly fiddly if your headrests don't pull out, it still works well.

I have been struggling to find something that will keep my boxer/pit mix in the back seat!! I finally found something she can’t get passed!!! She has her fits at times and starts chewing it but it doesn’t effect it!
I recommend this 100%
Installing was a little tricky for me because I don’t have a hook under my seat but I just hooked it to something random under my seat and it worked perfectly fine!!

Bruce Snell: We really love this pet barrier. We have had several others in the past and this is by far the best. The last one was metal and looked like a cage or the back of a police car. It was hard to install and take out and would not stay in place. We just returned from a trip from Florida to Virginia and back and the Kurgo worked perfectly. It is easy to install and fits up against the seat so you do not loss any floor space as we did with several other barriers. The price is less then any other we have bought and is really worth the it. The Kurgo arrived even earlier then we were expecting. Overall you will love it and you we highly recommend it.

Laura J. Valentine:
We bought this to try in our Mini Cooper Clubman. We wanted to use it to keep the dog in the hatch area, not the backseat. You have to take the shelf out of the back to attach it, but you can put the shelf back on with no problems, leaving the barrier in place. (You can also use it as a backseat barrier without a problem.)
The problem is that the top of the barrier only covers the space between the rear headrests; our dog can wriggle between the headrests and the window. If she was larger, or not prone to trying to escape the hatch, it would be fine. (She's about 40 lbs.)
If your car is a different shape, it might work just fine for you, either in the backseat or in the hatch.
The instructions are not the best-written I've ever run across, and the packaging is unpleasant to open. I ended up opening it with kitchen shears.

Macko: Bought this for our Santa Fe to take the dog on a long trip out to Western PA.
Well worth it. Kept our Golden at bay in the back safely.
Still can nuzzle around the head rest if you so need!! :)
Yes I'm a real person.
Have a great day.
