Dmqnb7103: It is my fault. I read the other reviews that it was too long & would not stay in place, but thought they were wrong. It will work for other things, but not for clipping on the short pots I have.

tallhapa: Others have said it and I'll reiterate, that clip is terrible. It pushes the tip right up against the side of the pot/pan (tried on many pots with various lips)...you'll never get a good reading if you're touching the side/bottom of the pot. I will have to modify.
The red marker you can move around is nice, as is the length of the thermometer.
I found it to only be 5deg off of boiling water when I tested its temp. You can adjust w/ the nut on the back just like most analog thermometers.

Amazon Customer: Bought this is Jan and went to use it for the first time today. The clip does not fasten/grip to any of our pots very well at all. If you just touch it, it falls over and can flip right out of the pot. A bit of a fire hazard if you ask me. Not happy with this product at all.

Ruffus: Good for use as advertised. The scales are a bit difficult to read also it reads about 5degree C too high. not a big drawback but nevertheless not 5 stars.
