for all you americans, that is what you people call a "square drive" as for your screwy sizes, i don't know.
i just took five random screws outta the package, stuck em on the end of my bit and i can shake the crap outta the driver up, down, spirals, jerking it off... anything and the screw doesn't fall oot.

D. Ferguson: While the argument may be made that it is "just a screw", the science behind these Kreg pocket hole screws is pretty sound: Make your project clamp itself for better support. Since the threads only go part way up, the upper part (that you pocket drilled) becomes like the passive jaw of a clamp. The piece you didn't drill, that you screw into, becomes the clamping jaw. Together, they ensure there is no play in your joint and work to prevent premature failure caused by inadequate bonding or movement in the joints. The larger head works to prevent you from being able to break through your upper piece so there is plenty of material on both sides of the screw. They're a bit pricy for how many come in a package, but well worth it considering how easy they make a DIY project yield professional quality results.
