Colorado Joe: These are not sack lunch size. These are regular sized bags.
I would describe the weight as medium. These are not old school grocery bag thick and rough. But they are also not tissue paper thin. They are some where in the middle.

space kaiser: My State banned plastic bags so we no longer get them by the hundreds. One place we realized the plastic bags were helpful was the small bathroom trash containers. You don't need a container just the bag or I bet you can find a container this size that you could place it in. Even a small decorative crate type thing the bag sits in. Definitely sturdy enough for that purpose as long as it's not too wet.

The product was simply smaller than stated. This product would be a great size for the right customer about half the size of one from a grocery store. Perhaps the wrong product was accidentally picked.
They were sturdily made just too small for my needs. If I needed this size I would not hesitate to buy them.
