Beverly Mulligan: This was the most disappointing product I have purchased on Amazon. The instructions were lacking, the product didn't work at all. I tried various sources (i.e. YouTube etc.). I am an experienced crafted and this product was really, really disapointing Cannot even give it one star.

Jeremy Simonson: Very decent considering the price.

SmithSmith: I liked this product. It is super easy to use. It takes a little practice as with all new products but well worth the money. The rubber rings are a little hard to keep in place and you want to be sure they are to prevent cracking but other than that I just love this item. I can’t wait to find more bottles to cut. I’m addicted!

Kate Ferguson: Maybe it’s me as a first time user but it looks so easy in the product ad. It’s not.
I found it very hard to position the rollers to properly support the bottle I was trying to cut, and the L bracket that’s supposed to keep it secure doesn’t, really, so the bottle wobbles all around and makes it very difficult to get a straight cut.
My pieces came out jagged and unusable… I was fairly disheartened and it’ll probably take me a lonnnng time if ever to get around to using it again.

Sara & Chi Mak: Works, but the built is a bit flimsy. In order to get a clean fracture line, you need to score the groove deep which requires you to score the bottle twice while applying pressure (scoring once usually can't get a clean cut). However because the thin metal stand flexes, the score lines isn't always straight and end up producing a rough edge. It's not too bad but would take some practice.

Nemo: The quality of this product exceeded all expectations for the price point. Both the bottle cutter and accessories are made out of strong, durable materials and well-constructed and finished. They were also very generous with accessories: In addition to the cutter, the kit came with a very well made glass cutter/breaker rod, safety gloves, two pieces of good quality sandpaper, a replacement cutter head, two sets of rubber o-rings (to channel the hot water required to sever the glass), and a drill bit for cutting holes in glass. Everything was neatly and securely packaged and delivery was within 24 hours in a very sturdy shipping box.
There are only two reasons I did not give this 5 stars: 1) The instructions don't tell you enough. You really have to go find web videos to teach you how to use it properly, and 2) Amazon shipped the product in it's own box (which is fine) but did not tape it. The contents COULD [but did not] have fallen out during shipping and delivery.
HERE ARE THE "CUTTING" INSTRUCTIONS THEY SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED: This is not a cutter, it just scores the surface of the bottle so that heat stress will precisely break the bottle in half. 1) Press bottle...

Amazon Customer: Not the best glass cutter. It works, but you really have to work to make it work.

lbrlartistlbrlartist: I make a LOT of things, but I have never cut glass nor used any type of cutting apparatus. I must admit I was a little intimidated. I tried a couple of times using some old mason jars, but had no success. Then...I got on YouTube. First of all, I realized a heat gun might be a handy tool to have; I got back on good old Amazon and found a Wagner heat gun for under $20. Next, I realized that although the limited directions which came with the cutter indicate "cold" water, what is really needed is ICE water; cold is not going to get it. In the demonstration I watched, the guy used a plastic water pitcher filled with ice water instead of the shallow tray pictured in the cutter instructions. More than anything else, the video stressed the importance of a clean score on the bottles, ending right where the first cut began. So today, it was do or die for me; either get this right or give it away. I must say as I was more than a little discouraged after my previous attempts. I practiced on another mason jar before I began cutting on bottled; it went so easily and so perfectly with the proper scoring, heat gun and pitcher of ice water. I didn't even have to use the O-rings. Then I went on to...
