Amazon Customer: I have found nothing that really works when cleaning a stainless steel grill rack in my Kamado grill of stuck on grease or fat, they all work to a point. I have found the best way to clean is to crank up the heat to 700 degrees or so at the end of a cooking session and basically burn the fat to a crisp and then clean.

This is a well made unit and will last forever and I must have had mine for a year now, I cook two to three times per month and it still looks like new. I would buy this again and recommend, but nothing is as good as the advertisement claims with grill cleaning brushes.

I have used various methods for cleaningy grill grates over the past 25 years and this brush when used with water on a hot grill does an exceptional job. It takes a minute to get virtually everything off, even baked-on grease. It also does so without the risks associated with wire bristle brushes. I'm very happy with the product.

Ed D.: I have owned so many different grill bushes in the past and they all either wore out or failed completely. This is the best one I ever owned and it works incredibly well. Even after dozens of uses, it shows no signs of wear or decomposing because it does not use steel wool or bristles. It is stainless steel wound wire that is abrasive on grates and yet it doesn't load the brush with grease so I don't need to clean it! I don't know why it works so well but don't look any further. This will likely be the last grill brush you'll ever buy!

Joan: At first, I didn't know how to use this. However, by watching many YouTube videos, I learned. Do this to your grill while it is still hot. Leave the gas on after you remove the food. Dip the brush in water, and clean your grill. It will steam alot and clean the grill. It is that simple. Also, because this brush has no open bristles. nothing will fall off. Nothing will get into your food for your guest to eat accidently. Buy this product. It is good !!!!!!!!!

F. Paasche: Leider hält die Bürste in der Praxis nicht was sie verspricht. Die Idee ist grundsätzlich super. Der Reinigungsvorgang geschieht eher mit Dampf als mit mechanischer Kraft. Das funktioniert bei kleinen Ablagerungen auch ganz gut, bei größeren Anhaftungen allerdings nicht. Diese werden auf dem Grillrost eher konserviert als abgelöst. Eine mechanische Reinigung ist dann zwingend erforderlich. Die Grillbürste kann eine konventionelle Bürste daher nie ersetzen sondern maximal ergänzen. Dafür ist der Preis zu hoch und der Aufwand (zusätzliches Wasserbad) zu hoch. Daher Daumen runter.

MarieMat: There are a lot of mixed reviews regarding this brush and I think it is due to the fact that a lot of people try to use it like a regular bristle brush. Unlike bristle brushes where you simply scrub the food/carbon stuck to the grill off and let the hard abrasive bristles do the work, the Kona Safe/Clean brush needs to be used with water. You need a shallow dish of water and you dip the brush into the water and then rub the wetted brush onto the hot grill using both hands (the brush handle is extra long and sturdy to make this easier than it sounds) to apply pressure as you scrub. You'l see steam immediately as the water dissolves the dirt and the scrubbing removes it. Kona has some videos online if you need more clarification. The pros are that it cleans more deeply (though it is harder to get into the nooks and crannies) and is safer than the bristle brush which after a season starts to shed its metal bristles (very dangerous - imagine some of those bristles staying on the grill and ending up in your food!), and cons is that it requires you to have water handy and takes a bit longer and a little more elbow grease. For the safety feature alone, I don't mind the few seconds extra...
