Amber J. McKinleyAmber J. McKinley: Received my King James study Bible (Thomas Nelson) today. Arrived in perfect condition. The large font is so helpful on my older eyes. Jesus' words are in red which is important to me. The illustrations are exquisitely done. The quality appears better than I expected. Will update if I find issues going forward but so far I am extremely pleased.

r Corey Bonsant: This is a beautiful Bible. It has tons of great information. The biblical commentary and annotations make it extremely easy for beginners to read and understand the King James Bible, which is sometimes criticized as being more difficult to read when compared to newer translations.. I particularly enjoy the maps, character profiles, and historical and archaeological notes that provide helpful context and background information. The Bible is marketed as being for conservative Christians, and it’s my sincere belief that the King James Bible is the only Bible for serious Christians. It’s important to make the distinction between scripture and the Thomas Nelson commentary —one is the Word of God, the other isn’t. Having said that, I found the commentary to be helpful more often than not. And the commentary is mostly mainstream and uncontroversial protestant/Southern Baptisty doctrine, which is fine. Whenever I read a scripture that was a little confusing or unclear to me, the notes at the bottom of the page often cleared it right up. I cannot recommend this Bible enough to beginners who want to delve into the King James Bible.

MDOG: A little information about myself before I begin my review. I do not consider myself a Bible Scholar, but I have been teaching Bible studies for over 13 years and I do read/study the Bible on a daily basis. I have read the Bible completely through more times than I remember and I just finished the New Testament two days ago. I own over 40 study Bibles and I use them as a one stop resource for lesson preparation or just personal study. Because I own so many study Bibles, I can write a knowledgeable comparative review.

This review will be a comparison between the Holman KJV Full Color Study Bible and the King James Study Bible Full Color by Thomas Nelson. In my opinion, these are the two best KJV study options on the market today. You can't go wrong ordering either one, but I do want to advise you on the differences/similarities.

Most concerns would be doctrinal teaching in the footnotes/articles so I will begin here.
