Jenn: I always love kitchen aid products and this works very well. I would like if it puréed a little smoother but this may be due to the type of vegetables I’m roasting and puréing into soups. I would recommend this item, if on sale at a better price.

LINJOY: This hand blender is powerful, and works perfectly for both left and right hands. Love that it uses finger pressure rather than a toggle switch. So happy with this hand blender, especially for big, fruity smoothies!!!

Graham K. Glover: This is a case where the product is as good as its name. It's a KitchenAid. Yes it's corded, not battery powered, but it works very well and it is powerful. I use it for blending crushed tomatoes for making a pomodoro sauce, and it purees the tomatoes perfectly. Tonight I used it for making a hollandaise sauce from scratch, using the blending jar that I thought I would never use. The sauce came out perfectly. It was light and creamy.

Criticisms? First, the blender arm is advertized to be dishwasher safe. In my opinion, do so at your own risk. It's easy to hand clean without submersing it completely. I'm sure the seals are good, but I want mine to last a long time. Second, the pan guard is a bit dodgy. It doesn't seat very well at the end of the blender arm. It's fine for occasional or rare use. If you think you need a pan guard, I'd recommend blending in something that isn't delicate. This blender is so good that I'd look for another blending vessel before going to a different blender. I would guess the only real issue is with non-stick cookware.

Would I recommend it? Yes! If I had to buy another immersion blender, I'd purchase this one again.

JP: Not as high powered as others but that's OK. The big things are variable speed, quieter, higher quality. Tried a couple other brands - higher power is heavier, louder and variable speed is some other dial or includes a safety button that must be pressed first - awkward. Perfect to start slow and mix in the glass or cup the stuff is in. Little over-engineered on the business end. Stands-up nicely. Haven't tried it on soups etc.
