Steve O: This kit fits my mothers old Whirlpool perfectly. The old coiled elements were warped and looked horrible, which was the main reason for this replacement. Also had problems with temperature control, either too cool, or too hot temp.
The original wires were still good, and the receptacles (old black plastic parts that connect the wires to the elements) were brittle enough that I just broke them to bits, to free up the wires and then popped the wires into the new receptacles from the kit. Popped in the new elements and now the range works awesome and works fantastic.

Atchison Framing Inc.: As soon as I received them in the mail, I plugged them in and turned them on to get the first burn out of the way. The large burners would just go to max temps, regardless of the settings. I burned the hell out of several items. I have kids, and this is a big concern for safety. On level 1, they went red hot.

BRiley: Our Whirlpool cooktop is 27 years old. It came new with the house we built in 1995 and I've cooked on it almost daily all of these years.

I did notice that over time the burners were taking longer to heat things up, but that wasn't much of a problem, since I have more time these days. However, a few months ago the front 8 inch burner made a loud fizzly vibrating noise and smelled like burned plastic every time I turned it on - after which I stopped using it. Believe me, being down one burner for Thanksgiving cooking was a bit of a challenge because I make a big spread every year and I do all of the cooking.

Finally, last week I started researching buying a new cooktop - expecting we were going to have to spend several hundred dollars, but when I google searched cooktops, several search results were for replacement burners.

I thought it was worth a shot, so looked up my model number and found these burners were compatible and ordered them. I installed them in just a few minutes and - Voila! I have a new 'stove'!

I saw in the product description that they might give off a smell when first used, so I opened a kitchen window and turned on the exhaust fan...
