I was so impressed with how well it held up. We did use some extra rope through the D rings at the front and added velcro to each strap to hold the excess straps from flapping in the wind. Everything stayed in place and did not seem to make a large impact on my gas mileage. It also holds a lot, we had 2 large suitcases, 2 travel on suitcases, a medium tote, and a couple grocery sacks of stuff. We did not go through any adverse weather so I can't comment on its weatherproofing. Overall this is a product I would recommend to anyone looking to make a move and needing more luggage space.

Sara Ostrovsky: I’ve used this for 2 years now before writing a review. During that time, I’ve traveled 3,600 miles and it’s held up really well! It stays in place on the vehicles roof and doesn’t shift around. It’s waterproof and has kept the luggage inside safe. The only issue I have had is one of the two zippers came off of the track. Since there are 2 zippers that wasn’t a problem as it still zips up and closed properly. The Velcro flap that covers the zipper is an extra protective measure and is a nice feature. I’ve used it on a vehicle with a roof rack and also on a vehicle without a roof rack and it’s easy to install on either, and the quality is consistent through both ways of use. I highly recommend this product!

chad underdonk: Bought it two weeks ago for a 19 hour round trip. It poured for the first 2 hours of the vacation, no water got into the envelope. That said I took a few precautions that might help you to get the same results.
#1 I set it with the zipper facing the rear. This thing is seriously water proof, but I figured if it was facing away from the flow of water it would be even better off.
#2 We had recently purchased some 27 gallon "Commander Totes" from Lowes and three of them fit in it very well. Two in the front running side by side linear with the direction of travel, and one in the back running laterally. That accomplished three things: First it gave me a 2nd layer of being water-tight, second it made loading much easier, third it very much filled the volume of the envelope which kept it from flapping about and wearing or tearing against the contents. Bonus these totes were the same color scheme of black and yellow :D. On the return trip I also put a few additional thin larger items (a boogie board and a framed picture) on top of the totes within the envelope.
It has 10 tie downs that worked very well with our Honda Odyssey Luggage Rack. They were very well designed...

Papi: First use, a short trip with friends and family. Bag is solid and is made of a thick rubber/vinyl with a wraparound zipper. The zipper is protected by an extra flap held in place by Velcro. Bag was easy to load. I put the bag in place on my roof. Then used a couple of bags to weigh it down while I raised the sides of the bag. I filled bag with the rest of my bags, zipped it up and closed the flap. The weight of the bags and the built-in pad on the bottom held bag in place securely. The straps were easy to install and tighten. Took me about thirty minutes working alone. Mainly because I had to keep moving around the car. Drove 300 miles in sun and rain. Some wind noise, but not much, and almost no buffeting. It handled the rain with no problem. No leaks. However strong sun did soften the bag and heat up the my bags inside. I don’t think I would use this bag in an area with strong sun. I also only used soft bags, like backpacks and duffel bags. Not sure how this bag would hold up to normal full sized luggage. This bag was still a good purchase for me and I’m looking forward to using it again.

Lexi: The product has no solid form, so it will not look like the picture. It will look like a garbage back strapped to your car. I had read reviews that the straps that come with this are prone to ripping and flying off, so I secured those only lightly, and then I used ratchet straps on top of that. I put this on my 2017 Subaru Impreza and drove from Billings, MT through Canada to Kenai Alaska. It did not budge, and everything inside was safe and sound. It indeed was waterproof. I would recommend not using this regularly, but only for occasional trips, because when I did try to tighten the straps during the driving, the stitching started to tear. I think this is great for one to three uses.
