HairlessPony: Update: on a whim I decided to see if it would take to reprogramming. It works now!!!! I had to YouTube the sequence bc I never get it right from reading instructions. I’m guessing bc it can’t be specific coding like my OEM, it won’t always store the connection. While I wish it didn’t go through batteries as much, knowing I can use it as long as it’s got batteries and if it still doesn’t work, to reprogram it, I’m fine with this as a back up.
I had to replace the batteries twice. This last time, I tried two different ones fresh out of the package and it’s done. While it held me over until I found my OEM fob, that one is 23 years old, going strong and doesn’t eat batteries.

ForeverSimple: Took me a few tries to get my 2004 Camry into programming mode. The car indicated it was in programming mode by repeatedly locking and unlocking all doors about once every 30-40 seconds.
From another reviewer. This is what worked for me...
1. Start w/drivers door open and unlocked.
2. insert key into ignition and remove it 2 times within 5 seconds.
3. Close and open the door 2 times.
4. Put key into ignition and remove it 1 time.
5. Close and open the door twice.
6. Put key into ignition and close the door, turn the key to on and then off.
7. Remove key.
8. Press lock and unlock buttons on remote together for about 2 seconds.
9. Press the lock button. if door locks, the remote is programmed.
10. Test to verify that the remote is programmed.
Might be incorrect here but the car exited programming mode when I opened the driver door. Then all the remotes worked.

Vaniah S.: Bought these for a 2004 Toyota Camry because I thought the existing remotes didn't work. When I followed the steps (included in the remote package) to get the car into programming mode, the car didn't recognize them. After researching more, I learned that the likely issue was not with the remotes, but with the remote receiver inside the car (search for "RKE receiver", or part number "89741-AA020" for a 2004 Toyota Camry).
Found some videos on the location of the receiver and how to remove/replace it. Then I went down to my local Pic-A-Part (scrap yard) and pulled a receiver off of a scrap car that was the same make and model. The year of the scrap car was different, but these remotes work with receivers over a wide range of models and years, so I was fairly confident it would be compatible. Installed the scrap car's receiver into the 2004 Camry then performed the sequence to get the car into programming mode. The car successfully recognized not only the new remotes, but also the two original remotes that I thought were broken.
The whole thing cost me $6.50 to replace by buying at the scrap yard ($5.50 for the part, plus $1.00 scrap yard entry fee), but if you can't...

mommyhead: ****UPDATE - Turns out my car has a feature where the rear window opens separately from the tailgate. So the Hold/Trunk button opens the window and the Unlock button opens the tailgate. Who knew. LOL
I think the whole putting your car into programmable mode is pretty funny. Put the key in, take the key out, open the door, shut the door, put the key in, etc. But it worked!. I was reading the process to my son and found there was a step on the end that I missed and it still worked. The trunk button doesn't work on my car (2004 Matrix). Don't know if that extra step would have made a difference but the unlock button unlocks the trunk, so it's fine. Even the panic button worked! I didn't get the two keychains which was a bit of a disappointment cuz I planned to use the rings for something else but all in all, I'm a happy camper. I just got this car and was sad that it didn't have keyless entry. My last car didn't and I was really hoping to get that on my new one. Now I have it for sooooo much less than I woulda had to pay the dealer. Thanks, guys!

Shengz: This fits my Toyota Camry 2005 well. I programmed it easily just follow the instructions on YouTube. And the price is really reasonable, it cost hundreds bucks for mw to get a key fob in dealer shop.
