Claire Fahy: The remote portion of the key does not work. I had it tested. It cost over $40 to have the key cut which is the first step outlined in the instructions. After programming, the key will start the car and manually open the door but not open or lock the doors remotely.
I contacted the seller and asked to purchase another key in order to swap out the electronic portion of the 2nd key with that in the 1st cut key and then return the uncut key with the faulty remote in it. They would not do that. They only offered a partial refund and I would keep the key or a full refund if I returned the cut key. That would be a waste of the money spent getting the key cut. I would also have to pay for the shipping and did not want to send a key that can start the car to a dishonest person who knows the address of where the car is parked.
The end result is that I have a partially working key which I don’t trust to keep working. I do not want to get stuck away from home with it, so I do not use the key. I cost 3 times the price of the key for a key to sit in my drawer, not to mention the aggravation of dealing with this seller.

Remo: After getting the keys cut (lock-smith, ACE did not have right cutter) got the spare keys programmed per instructions with two existing keys: both extra keys turned engine on/off. Then the next step to program the fob using the 8x RUN procedure in all its variants completely failed. Came across an alternative method that worked like a charm first time around:
1. Fasten seatbelt and close all doors
2. Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN 4 times within 3 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition OFF. The system will chime to confirm programming mode.
4. Within 10 seconds, press and hold any button on first keyless remote. The system will chime once to confirm programming.
5. Within 10 seconds, press and hold any button on second keyless remote. System will chime once to confirm programming.
6. Turn ignition to RUN to exit programming mode.

CustomerCustomer: I was hesitant to order both keys at once. Got one first to see how it will work.

Like other reviews, the key has two functions:

1. the Remote Control
2. Starting the Car.

I first tested the remote control and it worked after multiple of trails and errors, I had to chat online with customer care, who was very responsive on their website (They will ask you the order and name to pull from their system) , we did program the car with him on the live chat. to successfully program it, I had to open the driver side door and do the 8 times thing and press any key on the new key remote, then closed the door, it worked. The remote worked fine however the PANIC BUTTON did not work at all, maybe my car does not have that programmed or doesn't haven't that function at al. but the remote worked with no problem.

Second, after I tested this I was confident that the key would work. however I only had one key so I couldn't program it by myself, my local dealer couldn't do this for me, ACE hardware told me that they can't guarantee it to work, and suggested to call a locksmith guy, who promised not to pay if it doesn't work. he went on and cut it for me, and programmed...

K.SA: Okay, so I bought this key despite the abysmal reviews here on Amazon. From reading those reviews, it appeared that most purchasers were ignorant about what they needed to do to get this to work (mine did not include instructions, so here I am writing some). Mine works great, but there are 3 things that you need to do to get this to be completely functional:
1. You need to have this key cut at your local hardware store. My local store did not charge me a thing for this. Note: this is the first thing that needs to be done so that the key will turn the ignition (but won't start the car until step 2 is completed)
2. You need to have the chip inside the key programmed to your car so that the key will actually start the vehicle (this could be the most difficult step, so let me explain):
The hardware store that cut my key could not program my chip (their machine was incompatible). You could find a locksmith in your area that can do it (they could have cut the key too). DO NOT take it to the dealership. They will NOT program this key for you. They will charge you for a new key and the "labor" of programming it (mine quoted me at $250+).
