This is my first Kershaw knife, but my second assisted opener. I was hoping that Kershaw would make the assisted opener easy to use. Right out of the box, the tab has some sort rough cut edges on it, and it requires a good amount of force to open, meaning I have to dig my finger into the flipper tab to the point that it is uncomfortable to get the blade to deploy. My hope is that it becomes easier as it breaks in. Other than the speed safe opening system being not so easy, at least at first, there are a lot of things to like about this. This thing weighs very little. The deep carry clip is positioned for it to be deep carry, not a deep carry clip positioned so several mm or 1/4 inch or more sticks out of your pocket. The clip is strong, but not so strong as to tear into pants pockets. The blade is very sharp out of the box, and it is centered when folded close. Steel snobs may turn their nose at the 8cr13MoV steel, but it's fine enough for many jobs and sharpens easy enough. The only other negative I find is that the handle is long enough for a 4 finger grip by men...

619PM: First KVT Ball Bearing Opening knife ever owned... and I like it... A Lot!
Coming from a long line of over priced OTF, side auto, custom, assisted, etc, I liked the look but was hesitant. I'm glad I ordered it as it's my EDC for a few reasons: can't beat the price, came sharp and has remained just as sharp, light but just right for my hand and to not way down my shorts pockets, looks great and discreet with deep clip AND just as QUICK OPENING as any of my others (most I never use, or I have sworn off anyway).
Kershaw is making a good product and listening to what we want in a knife, instead of making it so overpriced, somehow unique and missing the main features I want like deep carry clip, or even in same black for that matter.
I have to admit I was not a huge Kershaw fan really until my ZT0450CF, which changed everything in my eyes about the KAI Brand as a whole... Great products without a doubt!

Jerry W: This knife is an unusual combination of features that were important to me: lightweight, unobtrusive, 3” blade, decent blade metal, grippable, deep carry clip, easy one-handed opening, and inexpensive. I looked at lots of knives before finding the Atmos. It’s everything I wanted plus a great hollow ground, clip point blade. When I clip it in my front pocket, I can’t really tell it’s there. I can reach in and get my keys without it hampering me. But, I know it is there when I need it because the clip is strong. It is extremely sharp when you get it. This is meant to be a light duty knife for everyday carry in the burbs so get something else for your carving, camping, and hunting.

idahospudboy: I wouldn't say I'm an expert but I have owned over the years more than two dozen pocket knives. This is either the best, or ties for first but it wins the prize for EDC because it's not a collector's knife that I can use without worrying about its price dropping because it's a collectible. It is certainly my favorite. It is light with a reversible, deep carry clip that can actually go over your pants pocket. The clip is deep enough that it does not catch on the pocket edge and it's not so tight that it takes two hands to wrestle it into place. It is not spring loaded but it is so light if you open it with the right amount of pressure on the lever it almost seems like a spring loaded blade. It looks handsome and useful without exclaiming "He's got a knife!!", both when in use and when in the pocket. I use mine almost every day for something but I'll admit I'm not extremely rough on my EDC knife. I did notice that mine had a few hard edges when I got it...on the spine and on the edges of the carbon fiber but I took some steel wool and smoothed the edges down with a little effort. Unlike other knives I've bought it did not need lubrication, adjustments or sanding off rough pitted...
